I'm thinking of taking LASIK when I'm older. Maybe when I'm around my 30s. I'm only 14 right now so I don't have to really worry about it. Hopefully LASIK will improve in the future and be more reliable.
My only question is that is there ANY pain? No pain at all? Just looking at this makes my eyes dry and makes me feel sick.
haha terrible graphics on the video, but otherwise very informative and helpful. My surgery's a week away and my surgeon is similarly well qualified - can't wait!!
To anyone considering it, go for your consultation. If they're as reputable and honest as where I'm going then they'll cover all the questions being asked in these comments that Proc is answering very well.
Excellent Video! I don't believe any of that Mumbo Jumbo about how bad Lasik is. After all, they wouldn't be in business anymore if it was that horrid. Very eye-opening!!! video. Get it? Eye-opening? XD. I will definitely get this when i'm done growing. My doctor said that at 18 I would be done growing and it would be okay. Opportunity of a lifetime! Amazing would technology can do these days!
i had this kind of operation. you keap your eye still by not moving it. the imediate effect is great . you see like with a new eye !!! it;s great ;) operation made in romania
eeeek looks scary. I know youre awake but like...woah!! how do u not blink or flinch or anything like that? I know you got those wires and all that but can u see them cutting or...here i got a better question. Can you tell me what it is like? My friend is getting this soon and I am very curious of the procedure
I am 24 and my refractive is not stable . it varies slightly after every 1year or 1 and half year. can i undergo lasik treatment? If i will do the surgeory ,It will give me
clear vision life long or eye power varies every year?
when they whip your eye with the spong like thing is that wetting it so it feels like you blink im thinking of having this but dont like the idea of having my eye opened that wide for along time and feeling like i need to blink
im 25 and i had 2 surgeries when i was 18, i had my right eyes crossed in... after the 2nd surgery my eyes are still crossed but its looking outside and not inside.. i wonder how much is it to get it corrected and to have 20/20.. my left eye is good... the problem is my right eye... im locatred in philadelphia and i just talked to someone in the office to get an consultation
Huh, I hoped by facing my fear of this I'd be a bit more interested in going through with it. I'm not. I'd have a terrible time to overcome the urge to move my eyes away from blades and crap like that. I'm still amazed my father did it.
I'm 14 and, from my point of view, I think it's actually nessessary that I get LASIK, even though you have to be at least 21. I can't see more than a foot away! It's horrible. I really want LASIK too.
It's a horrible experience! You feel the suction, the drops, and they tell you not to move your eye and to stare at the light, but you can't see! Oh the horror!
BUT IT IS TOTALLY WORTH IT! IF YOU NEED IT, GET IT, IT'S ONLY A COULPE OF MINUTES OF PSYCHOLOGICAL SUFFERING (there's no pain during surgery, only on the first 20 hours or less after the surgery, then it is allright)
Dr. Steven Vale is awesome! I can see like an Eagle! I should have had laser vision correction years ago! My consultation was free and no pressure. They explained the entire LASIK experience, before and after surgery, to me in detail. I had shopped around prior to going to Acuity. They were over $1800 less than the next closest priced laser vision center for two eyes! I have recommended 9 people to Acuity Laser Eye & Vision Center. They are all thrilled with their outcomes!
did it hurt at all? i think i would have nightmares for quite a long time following a procedure like that. did it really enhance your ability to see or did it just impared your vision? any negative side effects? like teaing up constantly or a lazy eye effect so to speak?
0:15 the lifting of the flap. I've seen videos of that flap disintegrating. I've also heard claims that the flap can come off later in life. Apparently the flap never heals.
You don't really feel much during the operation. The most irritating part is when they apply the eye numbing drops. Of course you're scared during that.
i have a question??? do u do it to both eyes or one eyes!

You can move your eye. The laser has a tracker that locks on to your pupil. The laser pulses get put right where they belong.

whts the other way of laser eye surgery for same treatment (nearsightness) other than lasik, any way to do it without cutting stuff up xD
RetardedPickle 3 years ago 8
There is PRK, no cutting involved. Also, there is epi-LASIK, no cutting and no flap.

How about all that?
a1mint 3 years ago 3
If the flap comes off, you'll have to heal PRK-style. The tissue grows back VERY fast. The flap can be cut off and it'll grow back in like 2-3 days.
Proc73 3 years ago
I'll see what everyone else will say about that.

proc is right man, it' nothing to worry about.
