ok, i burned the kalyway iso stuff to a blank disk but when i try to boot from it it will not recognize it and give me the "press any key to boot from disk" option or watever. plz reply and sorry for my n00bishness
Did the wifi work out of the box or did you have to do something to enable it? If so, was it a setting change after the installation or a customized driver during it?
If you want to use a pretty much flawless UNIX-based system then go with Ubuntu...it just works. However, you may need to install a different wifi card the Intel ABG works nicely. I'd suggest a dual boot with Windows XP so you get the best of both worlds. Take care.
I actually had Ubuntu on this laptop before I did this. Worked great. I put OSX on it as a project just to see if I could. With it now being a secondary laptop at best, I've just left it like this.
how were you able to install it? mine was able to install, but it wouldnt boot. I did the fdisk thing, but it still doesnt work,... idk what to do. i even tried installing the windows vista bootloader, but it still doesnt load. it gives me a chain booting error, i dont get it. please help me.

This was 10.5.1, I have not tried upgrading to this point. Right now, I plan on waiting for a Snow Leopard version.

I was lucky, wifi worked right out the box for me. However, I have spoken with a number of other people that did need to research some drivers.
