@KelleyMRyan182, Well... you can call this group/sub-culture "regulars" of Yoyogi Park :) Mainly (only?) on Sundays! But no, it is hardly a "regular" thing for tons of Japanese to be out dancing, dressed like this. :3
I always wonder why it's alright for other cultures to enjoy ours, but an American or other Westerner wearing a Kimono or acting in the fashion of any other non-Western culture is harshly scorned.
@NiteSaiya, I'm sorry, but that seems like a very bold and unsupported statement. I grew up in the states & I know America, as well as other cultures (Western/Eastern etc), dress in others' clothing and style. I've seen quite a few Westerners dressed in kimonos, and seeing as it is NOT daily fashion, anyone, especially a foreigner, would look weird & attract criticism if worn during inappropriate occasions--just as people "scorn" & make fun of these Rockabillies rockin' out that style today.
