I'd hesitate to blame the sound engineers - this is a live recording that hasn't been balanced - the midrange piano notes are quite intrusive and the woodwind/flute sections are out of balance. But Beethoven's lovely music and the sensitive playing overcome all that don't you think?

@AsianSplatter Yes the humming is annoying. I believe it's the conductor. Happens a lot it seems. Recording engineers should know to not capture it.

Great, but still I prefer Uchida in the Beethoven concertos. Especially with Simon Rattle & the Berliner. Unequalled.

one of my favorite piano concerto..... the music is so soothing and calming yet it somewhat denotes sadness in my heart.....

@ren2005ren I find myself when I hear this concerto y mostly when I see Martha play. She really can paint with her sensibility how sad I feel and how sad must Beethoven have felt wheh he composes this piece
