@xraccoon I'd venture a guess that this is the skill of the guitarist not a commercially noted version. This is one of the advantages of learning music theory. It allows you the freedom to take the basic outline of a song and make it your own as this guitarist has done.. I'd say his style of playing is most closely related to fingerstyle jazz. For reference, listen to Joe Pass, Martin Taylor. Taylor has an amazing, affordable online school that works even with beginners.(url same as name). .
I like this version a lot, it's too bad some of the little angry people who left negative comments failed to appreciate it's been recorded in a small room and therefore it colors the voice somewhat. Just continue doing what you love and remember there's always two kinds of people: those who do and go forward, like you , and those who are stagnant and criticize.
This song was first a Dusty Springfield's big hit in the late 60ties. I've heard once (never could verify it) that this first version of Burt Bacharach's song was played to awake Apollo 11 team while traveling in the space.
I love this song and this girl sings it quite nicely. Thanks !!!
First, this was a hit for Dianna Krall, so it is likely that they have her name in the title so that people searching her will find this as well.
Second, this is not rushed AT ALL. It's not like they are struggling to perform it at this speed... it seems like it is just their interpretation / twist on the song.
nice effort and somewhat promising but you two need to seriously re-consider your song choices. that just doesn't work on so many levels. guitar was pretty good though.
@38village it's a simple and basic way of reading music where 6 lines on a page (much like staf lines) are lined up horizontally to simulate strings and on the "strings", numbers are written to show where you place your fingers on the fretboard.
BRAVO!!!

As much as I appreciate Diana Krall, I perfer Dusty Springfield's version of the song.

what does diana krall have to do with this, not even close!
lvpete 2 years ago
By the way, of course this girl is not Diana Krall and this song was sung by several people before her.
Something makes me think that this lovely girl in the video has heard several times Krall's version before trying to sing it...
