The one on the right is Douglas Spartan-042 (also noted by the black helmet liner and the jolly roger on his shoulder) and the Team Leader is Spartan-092 Jerome with the red helmet coloring.

It decreases growth, like bacteria when frozen its called "Dormant" (Like volcanoes) this is where activity in the body is put to a minimal. At the moment in 2010 we can do this, but we can't un-freeze people without them dieing.

The reason they used spears is because they are royal guards, the elites believed in the royalty and honor sort of system hence why the use the energy swords everyone commonly associates with them. To use weapons like guns to them probably seemed dishonorable since they're higher up then their common battlefield found brethren, That everyone finds so common in halo one. The higher up you are the more elegant of a weapon you get.

I found the Honor Guards in Halo 2 on High Charity dropped those spears for Fuel Rod Guns, Energy Swords, and Plasma Rifles pretty quickly once shit actually hit the fan. I dunno, the cutscene just seems pretty dumb like that. They don't even have the honor guard uniform.

Forge can't be master chief. He dies at the end of Halo Wars. Plus, Master Chief's childhood is accounted at a time when Forge is supposed to be dead.

Forge also isn't a Spartan, which requires a lifetime of training and altering to achieve.
