I learnt the hard way that when u slide tackle while playing you should make sure the pitch is like over 80% grass cos I did A slide tackle on a pitch that was realy bad and mostly gravel and I got a road rash and I could play for a month and I had to go to the hospital twice cos it got infected but I still slide tackle :)

You can teach how to slide tackle! Slide tackling isn't only on purpose sometimes. When there's a player approaching you quickly get in some of the right or anywhere deciding where the player is closer too. Than you run hit the ground but, put your foot in front before sliding on the ground. Make sure you aimed for the ball with your foot or you might just trip the other player or miss!

Anyway he's got it all wrong.

The best way to slide tackle is to run head on with the opposing player. Jump in with both feet and aim as high up the leg as you possibly can. Ensuring you do as much damage as possible. Bonus points for leg break, ligament damage combo.

Useful tips, but I'm right footed. I find it kind of awkward using my left foot/leg for a sliding tackle. Whenever I slide, I always use my right foot/leg, regardless of the side or position I'm in.

I agree. But u should practice, especially if u r young. U dont necessarily have to have a real opponent. just take a ball, go to a field. Roll the ball forward and practice sliding with ur left.
