Narrator: "so yea, the monitor was there and he was like oh shit, and so they didnt do much just chilled there and the lions were just hanging out and the lions were like wtf but then whatever, so each went their way and ahh they continued whatever they were doin" THE END
@fadinho89 if lions saw a komodo then you'll know they'll shxt themselves lol, but knowing how tough, big and bad a male african lion is, he'll fight that komodo for whatever it takes to defend his pride, himself, and his territory.
@jjyykkzz Was almost certain that you were wrong about that (everything I'd heard on TV/internet had said they weren't venomous before). Glad that I looked it up. Never knew that Komodo's had venom along with the bacteria, makes me want to stay the hell away from them even more now.
@magnificentmagikarp it depends where the monitor lizard is really. Komodo dragons are part of the same family (The Varanids) and they have no natural predators but here, in Africa, Monitor Lizards are most likely to be predated upon by Raptors (such as the Martial Eagle) or an opportunistic predator such as a Leopard. It really depends on the size of the Lizard in question though. A big Monitor Lizard will have very few natural predators.
@earthtouch, a big monitor lizard would have any preator.. lions can kill them easly hyenas, leopards,, the problem is as you see.. here the lions doesent know what it is ;P
It's, then, assumed that all of the 7 cubs --- from the big 15 little ones, of 3 slightly differing age groups.... who managed to survive at the time of the kill of an ellie calf --- were now these almost-full grown & healthy cubs? Given how big & powerful lions are, their cubs' over-all survival chances, from babies to young adults, are almost as grim as the smaller & frailer Cheetah cubs, too, then. Given that Cheetah mothers always raise their cubs as single mothers, that's pretty remarkable.
the reason lions are unsure of what to do with a reptile is because it's scent is very decieving, and unless the lions are familiar with hunting reptiles, they get confused about what they are attacking.
I definitely liked it. So the lions wouldn't eat the lizard and purr while licking themselves, it was raining and the images were ok. Nice camera. I also like his unusual voice, sounds like someone who's been in the wild.
Watching this vid in HD in the dark is really awesome. I'd like to go traveling one day...away from lions and other things that will try to bite me in the ass.
how big are their fur balls?

Lol imagine if it was the other way around. Lion cubs fend off monitor lizard.
All the hypocrites will be here screaming "ANIMAL ABUSE" for not helping the cute fluffy lion cubs fend off the big ugly lizard.
