I don't understand the part "unexpectedly went back to her roots." She never took a break to focus on acting. She was working on her record all throughout 2008 and 2009, and at the same time she was promoting the movie House Bunny, which she shot in summer 2007.
I know he didn't. I'm just going back to the time of that performance and how everyone thought that's what he meant. It's just a lead in to the next episode :p
