The thing is, is yes if you have a iPhone (But not free, it's contractual). The iPhone supports 3G networks, but the iPod touch doesn't. iPod Touch only supports Wifi - and unless you are at home, or are able to find free wifi spots (Which is unlikely in most cases) you're screwed. (The Touch doesn't have the appropriate hardware in order to receive and send 3G signals)

The iPod touch doesn't, wont, never will have GPS/3G capabilities - that will stamp all over the iPhone cutting it's sales.

You can actually now use 3G on the iPod Touch. It's the same limitations as the iPhone but it isn't for everyone due to how it will work.

There are services in the USA offered by most carriers who offer 3G/mobile internet. But to explain it better I will guide you to the UK equivalent - it's called "Mifi" it is offered by 3 (Three). Google Mifi and the first link will explain it. It's nifty, I'm using it myself.

The Mifi works as a two-way router. It can receive and send 3G signals, and devices (Such as the iPod Touch) can connect to it through the wifi signals it omits.

The iPod touch connects to the Mifi's own Wifi signal and then the Mifi connects to the carrier's 3G networks, giving you 3G coverage and Internet access. Meaning you can use your iPod touch as a cheap alternative to a iPhone.

It's a SMALL AIO router (Size of a CC), costs around £50 excluding monthly subscriptions/or PAYG.

Yes you can. My ipod touch 2g is jailbroken. Go to my favorites and click on the jailbreak tutorial and follow it.

VoipOver3G for 3g AND EDGE NETWORKS apparently doesn't mean a first generation Iphone over edge. I installed the Voipover3g program on my first generation Iphone (unlocked and jailbroken) and Fring wouldn't work over edge. I subsequently uninstalled VoipOver3g from my first generation Iphone. I wish the VoipOver3g folks would make a similar, easy to install, patch to make Fring work on edge for the first generation Iphone.

1. You need a jailbroken iPhone or iPod and be able to access cydia. 2. intall winterboard 3. Install Orbz 4. install Dockflow 5. Go to winterboard app and apply the Orbz and dockflow and job done!! Let me know if you need help!

Yes it does work on the iphone original. If you already have the voip patch and it works, there is little need to get this download from cydia. My work around only works for a limited amount of apps to date. Once the update comes it will work for all but for now, what u have is basicaly rhe same.

Press and hold the sleep wake button and home key for a few seconds. The second your screen flashes off, let go! This is a soft reboot and your ipod will take a second to reload and your all good :)
