  • Short, sweet, to the point, brilliant clip, thank you

  • Awesome! Thanks for sharing.

  • This is an excellent know to know for the Wolf River rig. Tie an overhand loop on a leader, loop it through the dropper loop. Add a weight on the tail end of the dropper loop. White bass - YUM - in the spring on the Wolf River you can pull them in hand over fist by hooking a little minnow through the lips on the leader. Just google "Wolf River rig", and instead of *paying* for 3-way swivels, just *Tie The Knots Yourself.* Walleye, bass, panfish... yummy...

  • This is how you make an instructional video. Like others have said: no noise, no B.S. Thanks! I've been trying to teach my class and this is so clear! The background is blue and the line stands out from it. Excellent. Thanks again.

  • Took me a lot of time (and line) to nail it, but I finally got it.

  • excellent, you made it so easy

  • i finally got this fucking knot!!!! took me a good 30minutes of non-stop trying but i finally got it 10 out of 10 times haha. thanks for this tut xD

  • i can't get it :(

  • is this henry wazchuck

  • @playerz90210 sounds like mark sosin to me

  • Nice! I struggled with this...until now!! THANK YOU

  • Good video, no bs, no rat music, no dumb a55. Good job.

  • Thanks. Simple and effective training video. I tried some other videos and couldn't quite get it, but with your video I was able to follow along and now I know the knot.

  • whats the dropper loop for????

  • @HHETVSH0W Its for putting a loop in the middle of a line when you don't have the ends. For example you could tie a sinker at the end of the line then 12 inches up the line you could throw in a dropper and put a hook on it.

  • @HHETVSH0W panernosta rig

  • Demonstrated so simply , thank you

  • Great demo...after watching it a few times to make sure I got the idea, have tried it and is now committed to memory!

Thanks for your help as this is a great knot to know well.

  • Ncely done. Thanks for making this so simple to follow

  • theres a much simpler way to do a knot that is just as effective

  • Thanks a lot for this video. I too have looked at several drawings but this makes it crystal clear. Can't wait to try it out!

  • Couldn't be made any simpler. No crazy music, no noise from running engines. Please teach some of the others how to post an instructional video!! Thanks

  • Really simple and clear explanation. I watched tens of pictures and a few videos and I couldn't make it. THANK YOU!!!

  • Sir, you are a legend. Quite clearly the best and simplest explanation availble.

  • my first dropper knot!!

  • i use this when i go fishin in the ocean/beach for scup.

  • I have caught over 30 fish just this year using this knot. Mostly when I am by the reef by my house. Lots of tastey rock fish. Averaging 15 to 20lbs. I usually make two dropper loops becase I like to pull two fish up at one time. I put a heavy weight on the bottom. And use squid or live mackeral. I always get lots of meat to feed all my friend fish tacos..

  • This is an essential know to know for pompano fishing unlkess you are the kind of guy that buys his rigs from Wal Mart

  • I like this knot. What exactly is a dropper loop for? Info Much apreciated yall.

  • I use it on a surf rig (fishing). It allows you to have baited hooks at different depths.

Run the entire loop through the eye of your hook and then push the hook through the loop and pull it tight.

It's a secure knot in that the hook will not come off unless the line breaks. It's good because it kinda aims your bait away from your line and the knot doesn't slip up & down.

  • I dont know who uses this knot, and god i hope you arent using this knot for any weight.

This has to be one of the worst knots I have ever tried, it reduces mainline line strength by up to 80%.

There are much more effective loop knots out there such as the kiwi platted loop knot or the figure-8 loop knot. Though the latter is slightly weaker than the kiwi, it is still much stronger than the dropper loop.

  • wait..are you saying you connect a weight to that loop? i hope not...cause the loop is intended for a hook.

Or you saying weight, as in the weight of the fish?

Well i can say that i have been using this knot for many years and have never had a problem with it.

Dont know where your from but here in Florida that is a commonly used knot.

  • This is an essential know to know for pompano fishing in FL. Tie # loops and then tie the weight to the tag end of the line.

  • This knot is also known as the butterfly knot in climbing.

  • thanks dog

  • Thanks
