u told me that u are using both Axe-FX and Boss GT .. so will u be kind enough to tell which is better for this kind of solo playing that u played here in this video.

I have heard that Axe-FX is really good for distorted and cruchy metal tone like those played by Brad in Linkin Park.. Is that true ? ? ?

@aryancoollll The Axe-FX is better than the GT-10 in every way - it does great for everything from shimmering clean to cruchy to full-on distortion. Of course, it's a lot more expensive too.

In order to get this tone, you need to use a "high gain" amplifier and/or a distortion pedal.

@fifauefanato FYI - it's actually in D major, and while there are several pentatonic riffs, it's not a pure pentatonic riff. It's a melodic solo in D major (i.e. it follows the chord progression well). It's simple, but very well written. As for what B pentatonic is (B minor pentatonic actually), it's the notes B D E F# G A.

I'm playing the bridge position of the guitar with the treble cranked all the way up, then I'm running it through a Boss GT-10 to do the amp modeling and distortion, with a post-EQ between the pre-amp and the power amp to roll off the harshness. But modelers really can't match a good tube amp. Sadly, the latter is very expensive :-(
