@iownudie108 bit salty. When I was scuba diving in the carrebian, my oxygen tank went out of air so i had to use my friends extra breathing thing forget what it was called (octopus or someshit? lol) cool experience but wouldnt wana experience it alone at depth of 60m
yes DMFD45 but there are good dive story sites with videos etc on the net too. try the myscubastory site. type myscubastory into google and its the first one. enjoy
@rescuediver1000 Totally. Because swimming and diving isn't sometimes for recreational purposes, right? And you've NEVER done anything similar to this underwater?
Love the video!! Just got into diving & I'm loving it. There's some idiots that commented "your killing the environment"- Love your replies to them! Keep having fun cuz that is why we dive. Not to be yelled at by uneducated non-divers.
@betochperu Touching the bottom is okay depending on the substrate. If it's on a sandy bottom which regularly gets resculpted (for example, the area in this video is off a surf beach where the bottom changes from day to day) that is okay since the ecosystem is used to high disturbance. Stomp all over say, a rocky bottom or coral reef and THEN you are doing damage.
@asemoknyo I have to disagree with you. There are many dangerous things that hide under or blend into sandy substrate - stingrays, scorpion fish, hellfire anemones, etc. When I worked a shop in Thailand, a student deflated his BC to kneel on the sand, and he popped up right away. There was a scorpion fish under the sand. Luckily, he had rubberized kneepads. If it was only neoprene, it would have been bad. Rule #1 - use protective gear when engaging the environment. ESPECIALLY on the bottom.

@asemoknyo I disagree. The sand you're floating might block the corals' polyps and suffocate them (=kill them). We are only visitors in the Oceans/Seas/Lakes and should make an effort to disturb these environments as little as possible. There's a lot we don't know about how our actions affect the underwater world in the long run. Better be cautious and hopefully our kids will get to see the cool stuff we see now.
@betochperu LOL! You obviously only dive coral reefs. Most other places are far less sensitive. For example in Monterey where I dive the only thing you need to watch out for is hydrocoral - takes decades to grow. Otherwise I can tear up kelp and stomp on anemones all day and it'll be back twice as thick the next year.
Two things .... don't touch the wildlife and second (in the sand) just cause you don't see the living creatures doesn't mean your not hurting them or messing with their habitat. Stay off the bottom!
@indecostill, Just seen your youtube page with your diving clip on and I see someone in that touching the bottom and hands all over things.. be careful what you preach.. just another pointless message.. why dont people just enjoy the vids without moaning.
@wehavetalentdotorg.Thanks for taking a peak at the videos and i do preach and practice conservation. In my recent videos you are looking at a fresh water environment in heavy current with no fragile marine life and if my partner was lucky at all we may have killed a zebra mussel or goby (both invasive damaging species). Messages are never pointless when they are moaning about the reckless harm to nature. Good try though. Cheers
I've been diving for years, dorked around like this all the time. Nothing you guys where doing was bad at all. Looked like a lot of fun; I'd dive with you all any time.
@danman3150 First of all, you mean the "bends", not benze. Second, it's not fatal most of the time. Third, you probably were talking about lung overexpansion injury which can result from holding your breath, the bends is a totally different thing (but which often happens at the same time as lung injury due to a rapid ascent). If you know how pressure changes underwater work, it is very easy to avoid injuring yourself whilst holding your breath.
@asemoknyo not to mention getting bent is not always fatal, caught early enough it can be remedied with a trip to your local re compression chamber. Also its isn't a disease its is closer to an injury, resulting from an air embolism
@asemoknyo If I inhale at the surface and hold that breath while diving down to say, 10 meters, and then return to the top, I don't riisk over inflation correct? But If I take a breath from scuba tank at 10 meters and hold to the surface then I can risk a horrible injury?
@asemoknyo Agreed, as in, you can hold your breath if you descend, and you could ascend to the same depth as you started, not that they teach this, the idea is to keep it simple so people don't make mistakes.
So say....10m >>> holding breath >>> 20m >>> holding breath >>> 10m, won't cause an increase in lung size, only a decrease. Just remember your starting depth :)
haha im so jealous! i want to scuba dive. and also, when you take the oxygen mask thingy out of your mouth to make silly faces, wont water go in your mouth? if that happens and you put the oxygen thingy back on, where does the water in your mouth go? do you have to swallow it or is there a thingy on the thingy that lets the water out? Chocobo = FTW
there is a button on the regulator(the breathing bit) you press it and blow out ;) swallowing salt water can make ya sick;) dont do it :) aha diving s amazing, simply amazin.
also, if you find a Glass bottle underwater ( beer bottle, ext.. ) Take your 2nd regulator. put it by the bottle opening, kind of in the regulator mouth piece actually, and fill it up with air and press down the button to do it.. let go when its all filled up. shoots up about 50ft. really fun to watch it fly!
i have 200+ dives to my credit and there are quite a few pictures of me where you dont see bubbles but as it was previously pointed out it is easy to hold your breath and not hurt yourself. it is too bad they do not require educated people to post here.
other than that divers that are not so uptight but still are safe seems like it would be alot of fun to dive with these 2
Damn!! Bino and Chris.... you guys need to relax. It IS true that a lung expansion injury can occur in as little as a 4-foot depth change, but that only applies if you are holding a decently filled breath. It can still occur when not holding a full breath, but it would take a greater depth change. I'm sure they were in no danger. And, as for decompression??? Did you see any rapid ascents?? Cuz I didn't. They're just having some fun, guys!!
Getting it down was easy because it was collapsable, I just put it in my pocket. Opening it was another matter entirely - imagine trying to open an umbrella into an outrageously strong wind. Ahh, gotta love viscosity :D
You just kinda... do them. Every now and then we'll have some air left over after a dive and we'll go off and jump around in the sand for a bit of fun.
Its better than therapy. 2 hours underwater makes me forget all my worries. Actually they are gone within a few seconds but I stay down just to be sure.
