Dammit! Redstone is so confusing O.O Whats with the on and off thing anyways o.O I tried to make a door with a pressure pad to open it, but if i flick a switch it would activate a dispenser and the door when the pressure pad is active.. I ended up blowing it up with tnt :/
This is due to the one redstone between the torch and the repeater having no actual direction. It looks as if it does, but the neither the block nor the repeater assign the dust a direction.
But is it useful, for instance, placing a torch on top and on the side to yield two states? Might help compact certain designs. Of course, relying upon a quirk like this is kind-of scary, especially since the repeater is new and bug fixes might be on the horizon.
@inertia186 I like the idea, but sadly it doesn't work. If you put torches both on top of and on the side of the target block, they both stay lit. Effectively, having a torch on top of the block entirely breaks the redstone connection to the block.
WHAT ARE YOU SAYING???

It's not a bug it's just showing that it's in a straight line but it's not powering in a straight line if it's not 2 redstone wire next to each other

This is not a glitch. I'm advanced in redstone, that's a normal outcome of redstone.

@TheMaeyrl It is a glitch dumb ass

@TheGoldenSniper1 Nope, it's not, the redstone is facing it, but, not powering it, it takes two redstone (at least) in a line to activate a block.

Put a blocker directly above the last redstone dust and next to the torch and it will work fine. I used this property trick in my combo lock.
