@Zombieman27 I think the pedal works... I haven't done this in ages, but if I remember right, you can map out the pedal. You don't have to map out the other pads if you don't want to.
my xbox 360 drums arent getting recognized by my iMac. when i plug it in the light blinks then goes off. any ideas? it recognizes my xbox 360 controller but not the drums.

I'm having the same problem. It shows up in System Profiler too, it just isn't detected by the 360 Controller driver. I'm running Snow Leopard but I don't know if that's the issue.
when i plug in the usb on my rockband drums the light stays on for about 2 seconds then turns off. Therefore the computer cannot recognize the instument. anyone know how to keep the pesky light on? is it a power issue?
when i connect my guitar and drums (at different times) both of the xbox ring light that are on the instrument flash on then turn off and the computer cant see it
This works so well...i'm new to drumming, and i play rock band...so the whole thing on people saying it has lag and isnt velocity sensitive...idc, because im not good at all :)
Thanks for the tutorial! Big help! Took me a bit to figure out the key commands, but it works!
This may have already been asked, but is there a way to use a different sort of object that would work as a hi-hat pedal, using this program? I have seen people use other devices for that purpose, but I just don't know if the GPC would be able to understand if the pedal is down or up to give it that hi-hat pedal sound.
HaHa! Nice my girlfriend called me a nerd for hooking my rock band stuff up to my computer. HaHa! Thanks dude. This will be helpful on making music now and more interesting!!!
this isnt really a discovery..i plugged the guitar hero mic in just to see what would happen..i told people abt..they acted like it was common knowledge..computers will adapt to all the intruments with a usb
You should check out my program MIDItar Hero... it allows you to use your RB or GH drum kit in the same way as this, but with minimal latency, and it also supports every guitar controller out there.
I have a few videos demonstrating the program and you can find more information the website link there.
That was amazing!! thanks for all the help. You did a great job of explaining how to do it. Most people just do it without letting you know how to do it. lol
Gosh it's just a comment. It's my opinion! So leave me alone about it . If i prefer Windows over Mac then oh well and if you like Mac more than Windows then great . But that's my opinion so I don't even care about that EXTREMELY rude comment .
thanks for the info so far, but how do i know which musical drum sounds to assign to each drum pad and the pedal, (i know its somewhat subjective), but which ones should i use to make it comprable to a real rock drum pad kit?
put the annotation longer..but ya you can use wireless drums..even rb2 drums..it also works for rb and guitar hero guitars..but i have 10.3.9 so i dont have the musical typing in Garage Band..so im using idrums.
Weird. My MacBook (the one in the tutorial) is an Intel. Try reinstalling the software, or maybe you installed the PPC version of Gamepad. Redownload and reinstall.
Like 12 seconds into the video, an annotation pops up stating that this only works with the PS2/PS3 drums along with the Guitar Hero: World Tour drums. This method doesn't work with the 360 kit. I do believe that it's possible to use the 360 drums, but I don't know how.
both, neither work, the thing shows up in Gamepad Controller and it gives me choices for buttons, but they dont come up when I press the pads or buttons. Also, it wont let me hit start. I have leopard 10.5.4 (hackintosh)
It is possible, but I'm not 100% sure how. I think there are Mac drivers for the 360 control. Look around on Google and you might be able to find them. Not sure if they're free, though.

i would do this, but i broke my rock band drums by headbutting the green drum with a hard hat on... i know, im a retard, but it was fun... thats all that matters!!!!
GarageBand is a program that only works in Mac OS X. There is a similar program called Acid, though. I can't give you any tips on how to do this with a PC, but if you pull it off, let me know.
Yeah. It does have some lag. It doesn't replace a MIDI drum kit or something like that, but it's good enough for those of us who just wanna goof around every once in a while.
Huh. I think that there is a troubleshooting guide on Gamepad's page. Look around. If that doesn't help, tell me your OS version (Go to About This Mac.) and your computer (iMac, MacBook, etc.) and I'll try and help you out.

a usb mic into a computer is common knowledge. a usb drum kit into a computer is not. the computer has drivers to recognize a mic but not a drum set.
RedGaze 3 years ago
this is rather different though - a usb mic just acts as a sound device as the recording input, while the drumset like this requires midi mapping

First, are you pressing the buttons, or the pads?
Second, is the red light on? If not, then the kit isn't receiving power. Try plugging it into a different USB port.
