Can you just upload the apk and execute it with ESExplorer.

In linux the device should mount without a problem.

hi, can i install apps (apk) directly form pandapp or other internet pages where you can download the apps so to avoid installing the android market? its because im a little frighted about spoiling my elf

Let me preface by saying I am very much an amateur, so I'm hoping you can tell me what my problem is. I enabled the usb debug. I went to device manager, but it is not showing "Android Phone." It just says "Android". It is showing as a storage device. When I click to update driver, it says unsuccessful, and that Android does not have a driver. Is this "download package" you refer to supposed to be available automatically when I plug the device into my pc, or do I need to get it somewhere? Thanks.

@57sweeney You somehow need to update that driver and point windows to the driver folder that is included in the download. If those drivers don't work, you can find alternative drivers on my blog (Allwinner A10 ADB drivers, posted on Jan 25th).

@SchlumpfiHB Thank you...I will probably have to check out the drivers on your blog. I'm not sure how I would go about upadating the driver and then point windows to it...how do I do that? Do I go somewhere other than device manager? I went to the ainol site, and all they have is how to update ics to the novo basic. I'll check back to see if you know what else to do to update the driver...and I'll also check out the blog. Thanks again!

@rockyhillwildcats It depends on what version of Windows you are using. I have Vista running and it starts in the device manager with a right click. Sorry, that is the best I can tell you, you need to see what options Windows will give you.

@dewy9uk I'm not sure but I don't think it matters, it mainly only pushes some apps on the device.

fixed the device not found problem.. but will it restart automatically or should i reboot it manually? it's didn't auto reboot for a pretty long while and it worked perfectly if i don't turn it off, but once i reboot it manually , it seems to be frozen on the brand name screen...

@OtakuBaron you need to reflash with 4.0.3 again and find a modified script..The script works with 4.0.1 but 4.0.3 users have this problem with booting..Try Slatedroid

@JunAyumi this seems to work okay with 4.0.1 but if you use 4.0.3 then you will need to use a different script.See Slatedroid formus for conformation of this

@mingtse18 The script only works with 4.0.1 Im guessing your using 4.0.3...you need to find a modified script (see above posts)

@EnhantedSaber I THINK it does but to be sure, check out the video MrTasselhof made on the Aurora, I think he is using the same script to make it work on the Aurora.

Hi, My Elf tablet is not detecting wifi enabled through iPhone4 hotspot where as when I tried with Samsung Galaxy SII it is fine. Any idea please as I want to use my iPhone network for internet. Thanks

@raaaaj2036 I don't know? If it works with your SII and it doesn't work with your iPhone, then I guess the problem must be in the iPhone settings somwhere? I don't have an iPhone and I don't know anything about iPhones.

When I try to go to settings to put my tablet in sleep mode, it just stops and goes back to the home screen. How do i fix this first of all?

@Joerii Why do you want to put your tablet into a "sleep mode"? Just put the display settings to a 30 minutes timeout before you start the script and make sure it is properly connected as an "adb-device".

Factory reset did work, im recharging my battery now and will try to get the android market later on.

I just installed this fix on my ainol novo 7 elf ... works great! but now my icons from the apps are way smaler than before. is that normal? anyone else is facing the same issue?

@GREENaudio I didn't even notice but I think I know how to fix that. Inside the ICS folder you will find a build.prob file. You can eddit it with any text editor. Somewhere you will this line:

ro.sf.lcd_density=120

You can try out different values. try maybe 100 or 140 (for example) and see if the icons get smaller of bigger.

ive just installed the 4.0.3 firmware...i installed it and it didn't ask me for any reboot....so i rebooted it manually but it never booted....it was stuck at the colorful ainol screen....i reflashed it..,..can u suggest me a way to make this work

@muppets4 I really can't tell you, it MIGHT work as well? But PLEASE be careful! Only try this if you have an orginal firmware to flash back on the device in case the fix does not work!

I don't know this but it sounds like the ADB-driver isn't installed correctly? You have to make sure that your tablet is listed as an Android ADB-device in your device manager before you can start the bat.

@BulmasTigOlBitties Do you have Windows 32bit or X64? I dont know if this really matters, but the software is intended for 32bits windows.
