  • did i just hear myspace in 2011?

  • did i just myspace in 2011??

  • Resonant head or resident head? Hahahahahahaha, are you sure your a drummer?

  • @drbulbus hey I'm drbulbus and I'm some little kid that thinks he's a badass because he jacks off to gay porn which gives him strong fingers to type all dipshit like. Put the finger muscles away

  • i've gotta say..i've been playing for 27 years and have been a sound engineer for 15 , and your little technique impressed me..a real quick and efficient way to cut a porthole in your drum head....oh yeah..it was pretty funny too ! good for you , kid !

  • Hey I'm "forgot name" from some band no one cares about and I'm gonna teach you how to melt plastic.

  • @shitbrownchris Hey I'm shitbrownchris from troll-land and I'm gonna fuck around youtube instead of my mom. Her shit hole's pretty sore at the moment.

  • Would this work with a Remo FyberSkin head?

  • @overtone83 yes. i did it today no prob

  • Is he Justin Bieber's eldest brother?

  • Gretsch! Nice tutorial.

  • this is great! finally a video that i can see that's interesting, funny, and i still figure out how to do it.

  • 0:55 Dude your swearing

  • @AMPOmusic Oh no! A dirty word!

  • I've seen some people who don't put a resonant head on their bass drum. Its weird... but I'll have to try this.

  • Was listening through headphones and nearly shit myself when I heard that guy shout "Pineapple" hahaha but great video guys, going to try this right now :)

  • I makes me laugh of how he's just telling kids to not tells his parents. it's like telling them if they aren't old enough to drive, then drive, but don't tell your parents lol.

  • PRETTY AWESOME!! I like how the can just went straight thought the head nice quick and clean. SUGGESTION! If you want to get the port hole nice and clean after the burn you can take a medium grade sand paper and go round the port hole nice and even, comes out sweet, try it out, I have done this many times on my kicks :-)

  • I used this technique for the first time around 1980 after reading about it in Modern Drummer.

A couple of things: First you should tell people that this will only work well if the reso head is pretty tight. If it's too loose you're going to get a mess.

  • And what temperature needs¿?

  • No change in pitch?

  • @OfficialAxid Reso head.

  • Tanck you verry mutch from France :-)

  • Pineapple lol xD

  • i did this it worked a while later the hole ripped and tore down the hole reso head

  • @ReedCothren7 Mine did too...this was the first time I ever did a porthole. I found out afterwards that it helps if you get a little ring that goes around the porthole. They sell them for a few bucks at guitar center or other similar stores.

  • i did this and it works. You just have to make sure you put alot of pressure for a long time. also, my porthole lasted me 1 month, and my hole started to rip down the head. just a heads up. i also reccomend taking the head off onto a counter and doing it flat.

  • epic!!!!!!!

  • "kids....if your not old enough, dont tell your parents." words to live by.

  • your hole is to low no mic is gana fit in that thing!

  • @romodrummerjz I went into the studio shortly after this and it worked just fine. Most holes are bigger than this, but as long as the mic can fit in the hole, even if the boom arm can't, it should get the job done. In retrospect, a bigger can would've been better but this was all we had.

  • @romodrummerjz too low?

  • @sjphahaha the area he placed the hole is too low theres no way and mic on a stand will it in there

  • @romodrummerjz i own 13 mic stands. only two of those mic stands (which are not meant for kick) will not reach that low. I'm sorry to say.. but that is just not true.

  • is it better to make a hole in the center of the bass drum or is anywhere ok and wont affect the sound of the bass drum?

  • @platinum10000 Just be sure not to put the hole close to the outer edge. That will ruin the whole head. As some other commenters said, theirs tore. If this happens and it's near the edge, you've got a very ineffective head. Some people do the middle, some do offset like me, not a big deal. Just taking out huge sized chunks, or doing two of them (lots of hardcore guys do the 2 hole thing) takes away from the surface area of the resonant head which affects sound.

  • @BrokenGenerationBand oh thanks a lot, always good to know this!!

  • @BrokenGenerationBand oh cool thanks a lot!

  • man, why didn't i think of that. i'm one of those douches who mangled his resonant head with an exacto knife like a total idiot. to my credit however, i did this before the internet came out.

    also, PINEAPPLE!

  • Dont worry im lazy to. Haha!

  • cool idea, lame video

  • If ur not old enough dont tell ur parents lol

  • Lol! You guys are hilarious! I love how the guy randomly yells 'Pineapple!'

Good job on the bass too!

  • Thanks alot!

  • @noconflictbanana

No problem, hope it worked out well for you!

    Evan

  • If I had a drum...and tried doing this...I'm not sure if I would have the will power to only make one hole.
