I meet Dr Howard Wasdin at Georgia Boys State last summer and he told me that the two snipers Gary Gordon and Randall Shughart was one of the best men that he every worked with. Remembering what happened to them i can tell how heart broken he felt when i asked him that question.
@weaponsbros god knows the enemy are bad people? i dont think so, this is why i and more people are athiest, because we see past religous bigotry, in the words of te wise dali lahma "man lives fearing the future so never living in the present"
We fight because their is always war,it not about your country its not about the cause, its about the guy shooting next to you. You will fight and die next to those men, being in an environment where everyone works together and has the same goals is remarkable, their is no real problems between brothers in arms because at the end of the day we are all family, fellow soldiers like if you stand by this statment
@troopersarsan those of us who want to do these things, like being a ranger, seal, green beret etc, want to do it not because it looks fun, or easy, or glorious. we do it because we know that someone needs to do it, and most people are too afraid to stare death in the face like many of these guys do. we want to fight, because its what we are meant to do
my dad is military, he's seen a lot of combat, been in the service for about 40 years now. He has served 3 tours of duty in Iraq. He got shot in the back twice, lost most of his hearing, scars all over, he has been tortured. He has trouble walking, received lots of disabilities from the war in Iraq. The VA is trying to screw him out of the money he is owed. And there is no commercials for him, no groups of people who claim to help the vets. And he is worse than some people in those commercials
@MrZeus169 no it dosnt, cause ur fucking wrong idiot, somalia is one of the most poor food depraved countries in the world, who the fuck do u think you are?
when I first saw this movie I felt betrayed.....some sick shit about people starving...it was pure political bullshit....I remember alot of shit....but it doesnt matter...what I think
Can anyone tell me the name of song in the movie which plays between 1:04:20 & 1:04:41 That's the moment when they bringing the wounded from town. I'm trying to learn to play the violin and I'm crazy about this tune! someone please tell me!
i'v never been in actual combat but i will be army 19D or 11B, i respect all branches. and the people who have seen combat, you have my respect, with out you guys sacrifices we wouldnt have the luxaaries people take for granit everyday
@weaponbros I'm just wondering (really, I mean no offence), but isn't killing someone else considered a sin? How can they be in heaven then? Don't get me wrong, but I mean lots of Christians join the U.S. Armed Forces. Was simply wondering why. =/
@Emilvsd--->true--->u may not feel,,like its important to have a few men die...but once you go into way with your friend..and he gets killed thts when u cry..so its RESPECT!!!! for those who fight and die to help people they dont even know------>this goes for BSHVN2006
One day, a solider died many years after the war. When he got to the gates of heaven, God looked at the man and said to the gatekeeper, "Let him in," the gatekeeper, confused, asked "Why?"
God looked at the solider, and said "This man has been to hell and survived,"
touching, my best respect goes to the US Army whom are still fighting out there today whether in Iraq or Afghanistan or in some other place in the world that I don't know.
@skyranger11 But why? I mean sure, if it's defending fellow Americans, then sure. But they're invading other countries. I know they want to bring "freedom", "liberty" and "honour" to corrupt governments (unfortunately, such as my country's government), but let's face it. Do they really bring all that - or do the American politicians use them to further their own goals? Is that worth fighting for?
@Parham1995 Because other countries kept asking us to do it that no other country can. Besides Iraq and Afghanistan, we do stop the Serbs from killing Bosniaks and Bosnian Croats in Bosnian War and ethic Albanians in Kosovo War, liberated Kuwait from Iraq during the 1991 Gulf War, and save South Korea from North Korea in the Korean War. The U.S. also stopped communist expansion ending the Cold War despite the bad thing we done to support anti-communist dictators.
@Hperman09 I'm not talking about the 1991 Gulf War. That was a direct ignorance of the UN protocols on Iraq's part. The rest however, honestly, were not threatening to Americans in anyway. And essentially, South Korea wasn't "saved". America's interference led to a pro-longed war, and in turn, more needless deaths and sufferings. Communism isn't "evil". Just because dictators took advantage of the system, doesn't mean that Communism is evil, and needs to be stopped, really. =/
@Parham1995 For Korea, It pro-longed only because we're not letting SK to fall under one communist country. And China pro-longed the war more when they intervened to help NK in late 1950. We were almost taking NK and united under a capitalistic country until China invaded. The U.S. did helped SK this as part of containment via Cold War.
Most of these wars like Bosnian and Kosovo war was because NATO and the UN asked us to help them stop ethic cleansing of non-ethic groups by the Serbs.
@Hperman09 You don't quite really get it, do you? All these wars that you guys fought, causing thousands of civilians to die... did it in anyway threaten any of you directly? These all come back to politicians, who simply wage unneeded war. Care to explain Iraq? Former President Bush said you all have "extensive" proof of chemical and biological weapons in Iraq. Did you find a single such weapon? Was any one of these used against America? That's my point.
@Parham1995 War caused people to die. It's how human nature is. The US was part of a UN-sanctioned action to defend South Korea in the Korean War. IT's PART OF A COLD WAR. WHY DON'T YOU STUDY ABOUT IT. Look at South Korea economy then compare with North Korea. Also communism during 50 years of the Cold war killed over an estimated 200 million people(Pol Pot, Khmer Rouge, Cultural Revolution in China, etc). About Iraq, I have something that you're willing to talk too.
@Hperman09 What I'm trying to say is rather simple. Americans join the military to *DEFEND* their beloved country. So far, that's how it should be. However, the politicians use these men to attack other countries, under the guise of "defending" both America while in fact, it's mainly to...
1. Increase force projection
2. Increase income
3. Maintain military might and rank
4. Continue terrorism, so that they can have reason to hold the "liberated" land for a longer period of time.
@Hperman09 China wouldnt have Joined the war if General Mcarthur (i think that was his name)hadnt Pushed to far into North Korea. Because he did China entered the war. BTW my grandfather fought as a tanker in the korean war until he was hit by a blue on blue that killed his gunner.
@lolbug100 I do agree to that but Marcthur said that he wanted to bomb a bridge that would cut off Chiense advance towards Korea, but Truman said no so he was forced to left the bridge there to fill in the Gap for Chinese torops to cross by. we could easily see who's fault was it or not.
my cousin Nick was in Iraq and fighted, a day we skated at home and talked. then he said to me: a day a man die, he fight for he's country and freedom and beacus of that god will let him in. a month later we got a letter that said he died by a bullet in he's head :(
My grandpa was a D-Day jumper and Vietnam KIA. He was my greatest hero. A shout out to armed forces members out there, be safe, and come home soon. America misses you.
what the fuck was clinton thinking? I still have my boots with the red shit on it...what the fuck....some fucking president shook my hand on xmas day...several months before that he told me I was gonna be home for xmas
Some of you...some of them....some uf us...never been there...there in war...where blood drops and jump on your facelike a rain on a summer... look around ... then you feel alone and helpless .... again .... some of you ... some of them .. ... some of us.... remain marked with the scars ....scars of war...
People its a Movie! which is *based on true events" it does not say it represents actual events of that War.. so of course there is going to be many discrepancies. The Movie is made to allow people to enjoy the action and to see some horrors of War and Famine
can anyone translate what he is saying ? Sounds so profound and full of emotions ... would love to know what was he talking about .. such setting a soundtrack to a beautiful drama !!!!
It is hard to stare into the face of death and tell your story. Some for the lack of adequate words to describe their experience of hell. Some because of the emotional reminders of the things they'd rather forget. My father served in Tobruk in WW2 never mentioned his time served there. One morning after shaving he came to me and opened my hand and dropped a pellet of metal into it. It was shrapnel inbedded in his face from 50 years ago. My father had been blinded by a mine. He was my hero.
The only thing I found out about this movie that I don't like is that: the pakistan army did so much more in the actual event than in the movie, and should have the same credit as Americans.
@Kyle82894 They should of also had Malaysian soldiers in this movie at least. That was one of the problems I had with this movie (not saying it's bad).
iam sick of the news in dos liitle bars saying o 4 marines just died in an ambush .........and when a celebrity die dey do dis 1 hour thing evry day in a month da celebrity died..............so does celebreties protect us no da soldiers are so da soldiers needds more respect
i'm not trying to be an asshole but if your job is to be a soldier, then you're expected to die. you go kill people and if you get killed you get killed. surviving is a bonus. no other proffession is like that. if a celebrity dies it's bigger news because people generally don't expect them to. peace
This score makes me remember the brave men who gave thier lives on that day godbless thier souls they were true heroes they were true men I am a Ranger I hope i will someday earn the respect that these men have
@carpfisherman25 hahahaha i know like im living in hungary at the moment and from what i hear if something is good, like we would say thats fucking good, they say "kurva jo" its funny
Im reading all of your posts about fallen soldiers that died in wars and makes me think about Hans Zimmer's music. Thats why I love Hans' music, he can really give a soul to his music.
This music is awesome!! The movie is one of the best movies there is no Movie thats better than Black hawk Down!!!But the saddest is that the CWO Cliff ´´Elvis´´Wolcott died he was so cool and the pilot of Super 64 too.
@p00nji sorry i am german and my englisch is not so well, i want to say that it was sad too that 64 crashed and the pilot was cool like the pilot of 61!
Does anybody know the song that plays during the film when they're all in the barracks. Then he starts to call his Wife or Girlfriend, she comes back from shopping and misses the call. Theres some metal in the background, some guitarist. If anybody knows what im talking about. Please write back.
I dont understand Somali but this is so touching... the voice ,the tune... all adds to a very very sad song........ i wish somebody could translate it !!!
See you're thinking. Don't. 'Cause Sergeant, you can't control who gets hit or who doesn't or who falls out of a chopper or why. It ain't up to you. It's just war.
my uncle was in all of that mess as a army medic he doesnt like to talk about it that much and one of his good friends was lorenzo or "luiz" that died at the end of the movie but he said the movie was off in some places from what really happend
I knew a guy (ArmA Game clan) was one of our leaders, he was a ranger at the time and went through the battle of mogadishu. I didn't know at the time and during one of our missions I joked about the mogadishu mile ( the part where they had to run over a mile to the green zone) and he went off on my ass.
@13chase131 The movie had to be off in some places because the book followed over 60 different people and was a bit long. As much as they wanted to include everything, they had to leave some things out and compress a few people into one or even remove a few (like Stebbins, but he was replaced w/ Grimes because he was convicted of raping his daughter. You get what I mean though, right?)
@soren7550 yeah like at the end of the movie where lorenzo ruiz (sorry misspelled his name last time) said to captain steele that hell only be in the hospital for a couple of days and ruiz told him dont go back out there without me captain rob phipps really said that because he got banged up my uncle knows him and i know him also but rob phipps is in iraq most of the time now so i dont see him the much any more but hes a seagant major now
@13chase131 Yeah I bet the movie was off in some places. It's hard to make a movie very accurate. It's mostly accurate though. We Were Soldiers was way off in some places.
@amitnayna01 im just sayingyou know to me there were so many parts in that infamous siuation that it really should have been separate shows rather than a a movie and dont get me wrong i love the movie one of my favorite war movie
@13chase131 my father was is in Afghan, fighting, as we speak. and i bet if he read this, he would say thanks to your father. so from my father to yours, tell him i said ''thank you for your service, hero.''
@XDemonRoxasX oh he wasnt my father he was my uncle but thank you anyways and THANK YOU for your fathers service and hope he comes home safe and ill be praying for em
@13chase131 wow your spelling is horrible...seriously im looking at it as reading the book and the movie im not saying your uncle is lying to you why does everyone have to an ass about everything?
@seanbyrne1985 Not how i leaned it;
(yadayadayada)
And when i get to heaven!
Saint Peter's gonna say; How'd you earn your living? how'd you earn your pay?
And Ill reply with a whole lotta anger! Earned my living as a Army Ranger!
And When i get to hell!
The Devils gonna say; Howd you earn your living? Howd you earn your pay?
And ill reply with BOOT to the face! Earned my living filling this place!

We fight because their is always war,it not about your country its not about the cause, its about the guy shooting next to you. You will fight and die next to those men, being in an environment where everyone works together and has the same goals is remarkable, their is no real problems between brothers in arms because at the end of the day we are all family, fellow soldiers like if you stand by this statment

troopersarsan 5 months ago

One day, a solider died many years after the war. When he got to the gates of heaven, God looked at the man and said to the gatekeeper, "Let him in," the gatekeeper, confused, asked "Why?"
God looked at the solider, and said "This man has been to hell and survived,"

touching, my best respect goes to the US Army whom are still fighting out there today whether in Iraq or Afghanistan or in some other place in the world that I don't know.
skyranger11 8 months ago
@skyranger11 But why? I mean sure, if it's defending fellow Americans, then sure. But they're invading other countries. I know they want to bring "freedom", "liberty" and "honour" to corrupt governments (unfortunately, such as my country's government), but let's face it. Do they really bring all that - or do the American politicians use them to further their own goals? Is that worth fighting for?
Parham1995 5 months ago
@Parham1995 Because other countries kept asking us to do it that no other country can. Besides Iraq and Afghanistan, we do stop the Serbs from killing Bosniaks and Bosnian Croats in Bosnian War and ethic Albanians in Kosovo War, liberated Kuwait from Iraq during the 1991 Gulf War, and save South Korea from North Korea in the Korean War. The U.S. also stopped communist expansion ending the Cold War despite the bad thing we done to support anti-communist dictators.
Hperman09 4 months ago
@Hperman09 I'm not talking about the 1991 Gulf War. That was a direct ignorance of the UN protocols on Iraq's part. The rest however, honestly, were not threatening to Americans in anyway. And essentially, South Korea wasn't "saved". America's interference led to a pro-longed war, and in turn, more needless deaths and sufferings. Communism isn't "evil". Just because dictators took advantage of the system, doesn't mean that Communism is evil, and needs to be stopped, really. =/
Parham1995 4 months ago
@Parham1995 For Korea, It pro-longed only because we're not letting SK to fall under one communist country. And China pro-longed the war more when they intervened to help NK in late 1950. We were almost taking NK and united under a capitalistic country until China invaded. The U.S. did helped SK this as part of containment via Cold War.
Most of these wars like Bosnian and Kosovo war was because NATO and the UN asked us to help them stop ethic cleansing of non-ethic groups by the Serbs.
Hperman09 4 months ago
@Hperman09 You don't quite really get it, do you? All these wars that you guys fought, causing thousands of civilians to die... did it in anyway threaten any of you directly? These all come back to politicians, who simply wage unneeded war. Care to explain Iraq? Former President Bush said you all have "extensive" proof of chemical and biological weapons in Iraq. Did you find a single such weapon? Was any one of these used against America? That's my point.
Parham1995 4 months ago
@Parham1995 War caused people to die. It's how human nature is. The US was part of a UN-sanctioned action to defend South Korea in the Korean War. IT's PART OF A COLD WAR. WHY DON'T YOU STUDY ABOUT IT. Look at South Korea economy then compare with North Korea. Also communism during 50 years of the Cold war killed over an estimated 200 million people(Pol Pot, Khmer Rouge, Cultural Revolution in China, etc). About Iraq, I have something that you're willing to talk too.
Hperman09 4 months ago
@Hperman09 What I'm trying to say is rather simple. Americans join the military to *DEFEND* their beloved country. So far, that's how it should be. However, the politicians use these men to attack other countries, under the guise of "defending" both America while in fact, it's mainly to...
1. Increase force projection
2. Increase income
3. Maintain military might and rank
4. Continue terrorism, so that they can have reason to hold the "liberated" land for a longer period of time.
Parham1995 4 months ago
@Hperman09 China wouldnt have Joined the war if General Mcarthur (i think that was his name)hadnt Pushed to far into North Korea. Because he did China entered the war. BTW my grandfather fought as a tanker in the korean war until he was hit by a blue on blue that killed his gunner.
lolbug100 4 months ago in playlist Bangkok Dangerous soundtrack
@lolbug100 I do agree to that but Marcthur said that he wanted to bomb a bridge that would cut off Chiense advance towards Korea, but Truman said no so he was forced to left the bridge there to fill in the Gap for Chinese torops to cross by. we could easily see who's fault was it or not.

He was my hero.

i'm not trying to be an asshole but if your job is to be a soldier, then you're expected to die. you go kill people and if you get killed you get killed. surviving is a bonus. no other proffession is like that. if a celebrity dies it's bigger news because people generally don't expect them to. peace
