  • Good video. Gay as fuck commentary.

  • 'jesus christ' lmao

  • lmao "WHOA LOOK AT THAT PUT THAT ON YOUTUBE RIGHT NOW"

  • GEEEEEEEEEEET I LIIIIIFE!

  • Taking off on R/W 09 is a downhill takeoff. Most pilots I know keep ground speed in their pocket and rotate a little later than usual so they dont tail drag on their rotation especially when heading into a 15 knot (or greater) wind, which can cause an over pitch and tail drag.

  • they need to sort out the stripe on the engine :)

  • I am ROFL because of your name Steven Gerrard lool. Its how i know your sad don't bring it you sap!

  • you boys obviously have not seen take off at St Maarten if this shocks you .

  • I took exactly that plane in my country (another flight), and it took off as heavy as this, that must be a common feature of that flight company LOL

  • Not being rude but some of you must be so sad. You like sitting down on youtube and watching a airplane take off. You should see my face ROFL

  • @KarimBenzz You just watched it as well...

  • @KarimBenzz We probably would "rofl" if we saw your face.

  • Was Fenton on the runway??

  • @roddykelso that is fucking funny, haha

  • A late takeoff does not necessarily mean a heavy plane. Reduced thrust takeoff can be selected to use the full runway length in order to save fuel and extend engine life.

  • Beautiful video keep them coming

  • what camera did you use?

  • He released his brakes before setting power. Wasn't that heavy!

  • FLEX TAKE OFF: Power is adjusted accordingly to the current aircraft weight and meteo + runway conditions.

    End of story.

  • He's made his decisions at the correct decision points; why not leave the rotate until that point if all the decision pointers are already 'GO'? Also, note how the aircraft crabs quite strongly just after liftoff; I suspect he's in a heavy crosswind and held the a/c on the runway to give himself a few knots of extra flying speed. This ensures a clean liftoff with no possibility of coming back down again while moving sideways. If you have the runway length, use it! Good flying, that man :)

  • Why is it heavy Ryan air fly normally fly 50 Min hops. and as you can see from the video the captain has selected 5 degrees of flaps. also if you are not up to gen with a cockpit they have an FMC which they would have selected a CLB - 2 thrust setting which limits N1 to about 93.5%.

    Nice Vid Though.

  • Comment removed

  • this isnt heavy, just a short runway, and its also not that late for a takeoff

  • the pilot just wanted to use all the runway that he/she could thats all

  • ok

  • the plane is heavy so the pilot have to go a fast speed to takeoff

  • @micko756 not sure if trolling or just stupid

  • heh coventry is short as well i took off there once it was awfull...

  • Standard TO, he had plenty more RW

  • i like the last bit...put it on you tube!

  • I flew on this A/C last year. Oh, and don't bring your friends next time :)

  • 12,874 Views, I remember watching this landing takeoff!

  • Sometimes when the wind isn't much strong or the ATC stated a later angle to take off. Pilot will pull up later instead of half.

  • Nice video, superb quality!

  • Doesnt seem very heavy.. Short runway a high "flex" temp, and flap 5 make it use more runway...

If it was "THAT" heavy, they would on a 2011 metre runway spooled the engines up resting on the brakes, theyy would have used a lower temp for takeoff, and also used more flaps.. Remember that Ryanair is a extremly low cost airline,so the cost index = like 0... Ryanair always makes the takeoff's the cheapest way possible...

  • The pilot new when to rotate no need for the blasphemy.

  • put that on youtube what? :) and btw very nice quality!

  • Great view. That was a heavy bird!

  • love the chat ... by bunch of uneducated plane spotters

  • @macjohnk Indeed

  • @macjohnk More commonly known as idiots.

  • hmph. well you know how every pilot says 'any landing you can walk away from is a good one' well in this case i say 'any take-off you can fly away from is a good one!'

  • Nice I flew on that aircraft in April of this year!

  • the pilots are probably using the N1 de-rate its like a restriction of engine thrust (not a full power take off)

  • Why can't they make the runway any longer, is it becuase there are hills/severly uneven ground at both ends. Btw, Bristol's runway is also a metre thinner than all other major airports in the UK at 45m, compared to 46 at Stansted, Luton, Edinburgh, Birmingham, Liverpool and nearly all other major ones you can name!

  • Im a dispatcher at bristol, some of the TFS ACE LPA flights are very heavy, sometimes upto 73,000kg, you cant beat a 09 take off when they are this heavy cos they do like to use most of the runway! You should watch the Thomson 767 on a sunday morning when it goes direct to Orlando SFB, on 09, the wheels nearly clip the fence!!

  • Nothing unusual there. They do always take off that late at Bristol becuase of its short runway, especially Ryanair. I think its because they don't throttle up as much to use less fuel which keeps fuel costs lower, hence the slightly longer take off run (and why Ryanair is so cheap).

  • what ceamra amazing

  • what camera where you using?

  • Bristol airport has got a short runway. When I went there all planes like that eg Ryanair and easyjet took off that late.

  • @callumwhite12345 Yes it does.

  • @callumwhite12345 The runway is short..

  • @callumwhite12345 it is one of the later ones ive seen and i used to plane spot there. yes the runway is short and yes planes takeoff late but that was quite a heavy jet you could tell by how low it was when it was taixing

  • @airplanes66 obviously you don't go plane spotting there too often then..

  • @planes142 i live within probably about 20 miles max and used to (not as much now granted) go there often to watch the planes and even by bristol standards it was quite late . not dangerous but quite heavy.

  • LOL at me in the backround! It was a heavy take off though!

  • @megaplanefan I know, rotating any later than that it might have overshot !

  • @jacosborne14 It might have overshot?? cant you see?? He had plenty of runway left when he got airborne... This isnt as heavy as you might want it to be... The -800 series needs 2400 metres of runway at MTOW.. this isnt even near to be using 2000 metres... you should retitle the Video. High temp set in FMC for takeoff, and only flap 5 makes it automaticly use more runway... those engines wasnt even running near off the max they could give...

  • @jacosborne14 And he is leaving the runway before what seems like the aiming point, and the aiming point is at least a 1000 feet in on the runway... so,he have at least 350-400 metres left of the runway when he gets airborne... That means he didnt use more than around 1600 metres of runway... cant call that a heavy takeoff :D
