  • trains at 1:14 :-)

  • Wonderful Approach, I remember Congonhas Airport , São Paulo - SBSP .

  • awesome

  • Very cool!!! Thanks for sharing!

  • my city!!!

  • impressive approach :)

  • @dburford9 what are you, 14?

  • @RobertNicholls would you want to live in a place where its constantly raining?

  • @124simran Couldn't care less, as long as it doesn't reach 30 degrees or more too often I'm ok.

  • @RobertNicholls i like it when its 30

  • @124simran I do too, for a day or two, otherwise to live in the low 20's is better for me.

  • @RobertNicholls yea, i like 25-42 usually. i hate the cold!

  • When you fly over the Millenium Dome I start singing singing the "EastEnders" theme tune in my head!

  • Oh, yaaa, it was in the title.. ARVO RJ100 :)

  • What airplane is that? AVRO RJ85?

  • Nice - you were on top of Millennium Mills at 3:28!

  • nice

  • a little hard landing wouldn't you agree?

  • great vid my friend. Cheers, dom

  • is it heathreow

  • @RatedNKA10 no, london city airport.

  • @RatedNKA10 No, it's London CITY airport. How do you think a tiny airport like that is HEATHROW!? You're retarded.

  • i love flying over london and seeing all the cars when i fly over london!

  • No reverse thrust?

  • @Navahoagm63 Not on an RJ - They have a huge Airbrake at the back instead

  • @Dutchbird757 You can't blame them either for landing a bit rough at EGLC. The glideslope is quite a bit steeper than a normal one

  • @MayoDK I know. I do it almost twice a day.

  • tra un po anche io vengo li

  • i flew into all airports in london except this one and it looks the best to fly into you bassiclly get a tour of london

  • 2.55 min

    what´s that ? a footballstadion?

  • @raphi146 no its the millennium dome its like a massive museum , and also it can change to a theatre to do live concerts ,

  • cool!

  • Oh, the memories this vid brings back. You know of course the Avro is landing from the WEST rather than the EAST.

  • This is a great video, really love the approach and landing, you have got to admit the landing was not hard or heavy it was just right to me,but anyway love this video, and at 1:20 to 1:42 from above the tube trains look like worms crawling all over London in search of food LOLLLLL :)

  • Why is that a hard landing?

When something weighing 40000 lbs lands that nicely its a good landing.

Were you ejected from your seat in any way? Not likely.

If you lost your video camera on landing I'd say yes, but that landing was good.

London City is known for some crosswind activity.

And yes there are one of the only inter-city island airports to allow jets to land.

This jet is a rebirth of the original Bae 146 jet that the queen has used.

  • Not that hard.

  • is it true that only small airplanes make landings at london city airport? what about the bigger ones like 747s and a380s? does the airport have an ILS?

  • @addi138

The biggest plane landing there is a A318 as far as I know. The runway is about 1,5km. It does have a ILS, but it's really steep(About 5,5°).

  • wow steeeeep descent

  • @Dutchbird757 The approach into EGLC is quite Unique, not the usual 3 degree Glide Slope ;) Probably explains why passengers assume it's a hard landing.

  • Landing looked normal if a little firm! Remember when runway is damp/wet, greasing the landing and sometimes floating is not recommended. You eat up runway that way unnecessarily. Firm landings are required to make sure tyres firmly planted on runway to ensure quick braking! :)

  • nothing special?!?!?

    Just normaly landing!!!

  • What hard landing?? Looked normal to me.

  • Hard landing...

  • Love this plane! I especially love the fact that it has no reversers. The landing speed is so low that there would be no time for reversers to reach max thrust.

  • Got back from Amsterdam today, came through London city and was bad as this one, looked like the wing was about the touch the mac

  • the firm landing at LCY / EGLC is deliberate to avoid ground effect.

  • lol.. check out my top 10 planes list (it includes this one).. and comment pls :) btw very vid, rate 5 stars :)

  • Why did u fly into london city instead os heathrow??? prices?? just wanderning nice video to :)

  • probably a regional/domestic flight

  • ahh true ur probably right

  • @bobistheman02 No, it was a flight from Frankfurt to London. My Company booked the flight because it was easier in the morning to get from LCY to Liverpool street as from Heathrow.

  • @FatihFrankfurt this is a great video. thanks for putting it up. i have a cousin who has down syndrome and he loved this video! thank you very much

  • I've never flown an Avro RJ- what is the seating configuration? How is it?

  • Generally speaking 2-3, or even 3-3.

Its a very wide aircraft for its size.

  • The glideslope at London City is a lot steeper than most standard airports and aerodromes, for obvious reasons.

A lot more happening on finals than usual.

  • perfect vedio , THANKS

  • ......really hard

  • nice. where did you come from?

  • @Ukash13MK From Frankfurt

  • landing was abit tight but not bad as i should say

  • Guys who drop their videocams usually talk about hard landings on YouTube. Nice video, though.

  • LCY is cool cause you get to see London from a low altitude (2000ft before htting the GS) Nice vid!

  • lol the pilot may resev the engings

  • The Avro RJ-100 has no reverse

  • that landing aint hard man, its normal for a plane that size

  • thats not as hard as the one i was on!

  • How is that a hard landing?

  • nice ,good city

  • I've seen the approach over the tower bridge tgis year and it was amazing!

  • nice BAe146

  • Nice views of London!

  • Such a cool approach over the Thames!

  • cockney

  • what's with your username?

  • : /

  • AMAZING!

  • id recommend you to check the london weather forecast first before you come here. honestly, there are so many sunny and wonderful days in london...perhaps you are the unlucky one....lmfao

  • looks amazing, ive flown from LCA before to rotterdam an the veiws are incredible.

  • Not hard landing...standard VFR approach for a STOL landing into LCY.

  • nice video :)

  • nothing hard about that landing. dont dramatize.

  • Does not look like a hard landing at all to me. City means a short runway and steep glidepath so what you want is a positive touch-down.

  • i agree!

  • wow! he wanted to get that down! hey wots the thing about the reverse thrust?

  • London City airport is pretty unique in that there's a steepr gilde slope instead of normal 3% ish, there's a few office towers in the way

  • what a hard landing!!!! 5*!!! XP

  • great view, lovely airport, whats that comment about not being able to use reverse thrust an LCY? please reply

  • the plane dosent have one!

  • there was alot of snow in london at feburary the 1st =) mist 3 days off school!

  • I know, the first snow after years... I have been there and wondering why english people making so much trouble for such a little bit of snow... little bit for germans ;-)

  • @allibowthepilot your talking like europe got alot of snow last year come to northern ontario we had like 8 feet in the bush snowbanks like 10ft high

  • @allibowthepilot wow, and you seem to need it, too...

  • Wow amazing vid. I think I must have seen my friend's apartment from the plane. Its just by the bridge leading to Excel arena

  • you past the Canary wharf and the O2,

amazing, I never thought the plane would be so close to the O2!!!!

  • Great video !

  • what a hard landing ! 5*

  • That was a wet runway. The pilots did well to put it on the ground right away. No fiddling around with the flare and ending up off the runway.

  • Many landings at LCY are a bit hard because of the steep 5.5 degree approach angle required by noise abatement regulations.

  • Right! Add to that the fact that you aren't allowed to use reverse thrust. So you really don't want to delay your touchdown!

  • Nothing wrong with that landing at all mate.

  • at london city i think getting it on the ground is more important than floating around trying to make it nice and whilest running out of runway.

  • WOW, must suck for the pilots landing at this airport in this weather!

  • actually us pilots like a challenge. it become boring sometimes if you fly in the same conditions day in, day out.

  • that was not a hard landing

  • The landing wasn't that bad really, a little firm if anything but definitely not hard.

  • That was a hard landing.
