Stop climate change, help develop Carbon Capture and Sequestration here in the UK, so we can let China use it. This is the global reality of carbon reduction. China will not use renewable energies when it is sitting on so much coal and is second largest emission producer after USA.
Emitting CO2 while producing all our plastic junk. Climate change is our problem, and we can easily deal with it. For instance, taxing fossil fuels at source, so all fossil fuel-based products are prohibitively expensive.
The sad thing is, we can actually cut emissions by using a degree of coal power in the uk, as we still have useable coal seems thanks to new technology, which means less distance to transport, and so no new emissions.
Once we have enough wind, wave, carbon capture plants and NUCLEAR power production, we can start moving to electric cars. Currently all electric cars and hybrids are just gimics to make sales until a complete emission free power supply is made.
Why cant you damn eco wankers just leave the uk alone, and go to china, the uk hardly pollutes, while China is basicly emiting everything.
Because China and the US are so selfish not to do anything, and now jsut the UK , a tiny island, is expected to cut up to 95% of the worlds carbon emitions, i bet the uk emits about 5% or so of the worlds carbon.
well done andyg3. Don't you get it, obviously not. Global warming is not stopped by slagging off protestors or countries like the US and China. It is stopped by showing leadership and strength.
You muppets want to carry on like nothing is happening saying i'm alright jack sod the kids living here after us eh.
Mind you I bet you are one of the fools that thinks climate change is all made up and the 1000's of reports all comfirming it are a conspiracy.
Great Job, Protesting really works, people stand ip and listen, they know each of you represents many many others who are thinking the same thing. Thank you so much for protesting,
you are fighting for our childrens future and
humanity as a whole, wonderful work. Very inspiring. YOU ARE FANTASTIC, THANK YOU
GREAT WORK GUYS SORRY i CANT BE WITH U...JUST IGNORE THE ASSHOLES ABOVE ...THEIR USUALLY JUST IGNORANT FAT AMERICANS..GOOD FOR NOTHING EVEN FOR THEMSELVES .
Looks fun, but when the lights go out, people are freezing and there are massive job losses it won't seem such a lark.
If we'd taken action after the oil crisis of the 70s it might have been different, but we didn't. Over the next 30 years or so we'll need the full range of energy sources inc. nuclear and coal.
you protesters may be loud, but I remember my extremely liberal house-mate who is vegan, has bush hate posters and regularly protest against global warming issues while her favourite film is An Inconvenient Truth.
But when she got this years gas bill she cried for the first time over energy issues.
You will be surprised how deep it hurts to blow a year's savings just to heat your shower every morning.
The majority will support more climate unrest for a cheaper and more pleasant life.
Well, its no good moaning about the cost of your energy bill, its probably gone up to pay for the extra security around energy companies offices because of missinformed idiots like this. Lets face it coal = jobs = cheap energy - renewables = expensive bills have to go up simple maths aint it
Climate change is rubbish,as I sit here freezing my ass off this winter,I don't feel real warm, unless I'm rugged right up but it is winter and winter is meant to be cold.
Well, you are in just one part of a very large system.
FACT: the atmosphere is ON AVERAGE getting hotter
FACT: this is happening because humans are burning fossil fuels and releasing carbon dioxide.
But beyond that things get complicated. It is unclear exactly how bad it will get, but about 1 million years ago Antarctica was a tropical rainforest and the sea level were high enough that America was split in two as the Gulf of Mexico spread all the way up over the great plains.
things like this dont work. They make people look like prats. Police play it cool and people who pass see protesters as nuisances. People in Britain are too scared to take real action. Im all for the cause, and Im in no way a lover of violence, but I feel drastic change needs to go under way. More evasive action, more riots. These are what it takes for political change. Do you really think the police and government will listen to the W/class if they do not pose a threat? Nah. VIVA LA REVOLUTIONx
If peaceful protests didnt work then why would Greenpeace and other peaceful organizations continue to be such an important voice for people all around the world. I have been invloved in lots of peaceful protests, and the most important thing about them is educating the public and standing up for what you believe in. change does happen!
I can't believe that in 2008 they still want to build coal power stations in the UK - it's time we had a bit of leadership on tackling climate change. Plus that does seem to be quite a lot of police.
yes they were waiting for us when we got there, 5 vans of police! Shows you how the government is intimidated by even small protests against their energy policy. There is a conference at LSE in march go to climateredalert and put a . com on the end.
Shut up/ green washing.

You can live in mud huts and hug trees if you want but don't impose your will on the rest of us.
