Movie was made back in 96, based around the same year 2, so using the Raptor would be redundant, not to mention the F/A-18 needed a lil screen time.

They our meant to be F-18 Hornets as this film was made in 1995/96 and came out in July 96 but the F-22 did not have its first flight untill 1997 so it was just a blue print at the time of the film.

Still this is the best Sci-fi movie of all time.
