When I was on my now girlfriend's porch, she left her stereo on inside her house and right when I kissed her goodnight, this started playing. Amazing. I'll never forget it.
interesting how often oriental folk play this type of music so well. but this kind of emotional melody originates from europe. have we got something right for once?
This moves me like no other piece. And those who don't feel from it simply are less musically inclined than those who do. There's no shame in it, but there's also no need for disrespecting this marvel. Beautiful Mascagni!! Bravo
For some reason, this song makes me cry. I think it is because this song is heart warming, nostalgic, and sad and that time is short. It also brings me back to my childhood days...when I'm carefree.
Young Pietro composed this piece, then trashed it, thinking it below his best effort. His mother retrieved the manuscripty and sent it to a contest, which he won, first place. Three years later the melodies swept the entire industrialized nations and for little wonder. No other piece so sweeps the human heart free of the detritus of banal daily life.
@n33dyr1 maybe it sounds racist but italians have such beautiful art in music...when i hear this is sounds like a burning passion if passion had a sound this would be it.
