@thejammiedodger07 Well with Skyclad that silly fun is measured up with a sharp intellect. Alestorm is to Power metal for me too. No dynamics. With Skyclad its real riffs and groovy basslines and not just power strumming and keyboards.
great remembrance to this: year 1992 in halle/saale (germany) - skyclad played as support for manowar. the aufience is fullfilled and one fan rushed to the stage where martin walkyier and skayclad play this song: the fan is grunting "Sabbat! Sabbat!", bowling people with his body. martin is waving about with his sword.
Awsome memories of this groupe.....saw em live in Cardiff but can't quit remember the year ....what a bloody gig that was!!!!!! and yes Martin and the band had beers with the fans at the end of the concert .....his jacket was stolen at that gig and i wonder if he ever got it back?
Cheers for the post ...even though i have the album somewhere( on cassette)
@Violientrevolution He reminds me to always look at things from an outside perspective. Dont get carried away in a mob mentality. Be your own man. And be wise.
seen them play in Dublin - in the sound garden, i think around '94. Had a bite to eat & a few drinks with Martin & a few other band members before the gig. I remember Martin being a gent and a good laugh. Was one of the last gigs i can remember where the promoters allowed stagediving... u could'nt beat it with a stick...
@leontrotsky108 RE;" last gigs i can rem....allowed stagediving." O.K., so it isn't just the U.S. with this pussy kill-joy shit. Can't stage dive, can barely find a diving board, places for horse-back riding and/or snow-mobiling or no-more or charge a ridicules amonts of $. All this due o law suits. Glad I was young when I was young. Now I get my adrenilin rush from white-water kayaking, droppin 25ft.Hope the powers-2-b dont pull the plug. hope i catch this band when/if they hit the US.
I got to hear the demo of this before it was released. Totally blew me away. Cheers for uploading it. I had the same problem as kopilit, thank fuck for CD's!!!!
I haven't listened to anything without Martin in it that they've done. Martin is pretty much my favourite vocalist, Sabbat being my favourite band, can't hate on him =P.
Hallo HelloHalo117. You shouldn't listen to the "new" stuff w/o Martin if you don't want to be disappointed. It's the most folky thing that I've ever heard from U.K. except Runrig
HOW does he do this voice??!?!?!
This takes me back 20 years....
Also try Alestorm- similar band, playing England NOW!!
