Dakar cars don't look like that because they have much less travel and are lower to the ground.

the suspension has so much travel so they get lots of body roll on turns.

The extreme wheel travel helps the truck and drivers to stay in one piece. The wheels meet the road instead of the road meets the wheels. Shortening the suspension will tear up the truck and the landings will be much harsher.

Dakar is an entirely different race than the 1000. different class rules ECT. the way the vehicles are set up is to handle ALL of baja the best possible with one setup. why would u compromise offroad handling for better cornering abilities on asphault when you are doing a offroad race. those trucks have the best damn suspension money can buy for this race. take a dakar rallye car through the san felipe whoops. then come talk to me

@charliewspringfield remember only a very small portion of the race is on asphalt. the rest is rough greuling terrain. they werent "nearly rolling either" they were in perfect control, although still hangin it out. if you knew anything about offroad trucks and suspension and driving you would know this. also many of these vehicles have swaybars.
