Excuse me mr. Khalidi. Palestine was occupied in 1948. Villages were destroyed and ethnically cleansed in 1948 (And before). @andyinvietnam There is an occupation as Israel launched an aggressive war and occupied the West Bank and Gaza in June 1967, which contrary to Zionist propaganda was NOT a preemptive war. Israel was offered multiple opportunities for negotiations from U Thant, the UN etc. for a peaceful resolution of the crisis created by the remilitiarisation of the Sinai and the closure of the Straits of Tiran which Egypt accepted but Israel rejected. The refugees result from Israeli ethnic cleansing in 1948.

@EC66OK Yeah, Israel broke a ceasefire that Hamas upheld by killing Hamas militants, Hamas responded with sporadic crude rocket fire, and Israel punished that anticipated retaliation by murdering 1400 Gazans and destroying their homes and infrastructure. The IDF has a long track record of responding to potential peace accords with their enemies by provoking them back into violence. I'm guessing the resentment on your end stems from the that fact that, unlike Khalidi, you don't have a degree.
