  • you go kid. I always wanted boy stuff. He man , voltron, transformers etc. this is one smart girl

  • She has a point, but I can't stop thinking about how chubby she is.

  • She is definetly my hero.. i hated princesses as a kid, and i'm pretty sure i made the exact same speech at her age

  • I love this video! Smart kid! For school I made a project explain why this is so. I submitted it as a video response. Could you please approve it? It's in your YouTube inbox, the tab on the left side. Thanks!

    ~Michelle

  • lol!! hilariously histarical! im with u. i hate pink too!!

  • lol, brilliant.

  • I love this girl. :)

  • I think that she is just saying the truth, so I give her credit for that so.. YOU GO RILEY!!!

  • she is so right but I think she might of been coached

  • Hahahaah this is EXACTLY how I was as a kid. So all the people that are saying she couldnt possibly have thought this up on her own are wrong. xD I was always wanting to go down the boy toy aisle, which is what it was called and still is. I wanted to play with dinosaurs and race cars! I didnt like all the dolls and pretty little pink things. In fact I couldnt understand why my 'girl' section did not have cool stuff either! Hi 5 lil girl <3

  • I hate barbies, proncesses and shit, Why is barbie always a pre school teacher, a baby sitter, a pediatrician or a nurse? Why isn't she an astronaut or a nobel prize winner or a super hero? I mean, girls CAN do that stuff you know? We are not just mothers... just saying ..

  • bronies ftw

  • staaaaaaged. "boys dont want pink . . . *pregnant pause, father puts words into her mouth* . . . they're trying to trick people!" please

  • Awesomeness.

  • Smart little kid, lol.

When I was 5 I was obsessed with Spiderman, I'm glad my parents didn't try to make me want dolls and princesses and just bought me what I liked.

  • It's incredible how fucking stupid people are here.

Like a 4 year old child would come up with this shit on her own.

    Your stupidity amazes me.

  • @Flexipop76

Way to find a negative in a positive. I doesn't matter who came up with it. She believes it & that's more important. And it's true. Ideally, all parents should teach their children these things, but there's too many ppl still following the same old gender 'rules.'

  • @Flexipop76 Nobody is saying she didn't learn it from her parents. Obviously she did. Your argument is basically like looking at a kid that can play the guitar and being like "Wow you guys are stupid, his parents taught him to play." No shit, Sherlock.

  • You go Riley! You play with whatever you want.

  • Oh my god, I'm writing this girl in for president on my voting card in November.

  • I just got the best chuckle she is a smart little girl and I'm sure she will go far in life. I love it!! I have always liked pink and superhero's and why can't there be a pink superhero?? Way to Go Riley!!

  • Occasionally my daughter would want to go down the 1-2 aisles of purely pink stuff at the toy store or Wal-Mart, but most of the time she'd say, "Let's skip the pink aisles." She didn't, & still doesn't, care for the stuff in those aisles because they are way over the top girlie. My little tomboy falls somewhere inbetween - she'd play with dolls, but is also happy getting dirty outside or playing with tractors & trucks & I love that! Why do we have to force one over the other so much?

  • This is so fucking adorable <3 You go girl, make the world a better place :)

  • This needs to go SUPER viral.

    YOU GO, GIRL!

  • My wife and I let our 3 year old son buck the trend. If he wants a "girl" toy we tell him sure. Boys can like pink and play with babies. So he has what some would call girl toys and what some would call boy toys. To my family they are just called toys and they don't require a gender.

  • I'm so proud of Riley! You need to make a change in the world with your lecture!Im sure you could do it :)

And sum peeps that comment need to respect young girls and not be cruel and call them lesbians:( (I'm speaking to the protagonist guy...

  • see, I enjoy this and all, but whenever I see videos of children making strong statements like this, I am always wondering if it was just the parent coaching them.

  • It's unbelievable that a child this age has already figured it out! Bravo Riley! You're a very smart Cookie!~ I'm with you! Let me know when you're ready to do an interview with us. We're ready when you are :-)

  • People can be so mean, obviously it is true what she said!

  • Why not go to the boys section. They have super heroes and all.She doesn't need to be an activist.

  • @kittysnack56 Because it shouldn't have to be the 'boy's section'. It should just be the superhero section. No gender reference at all.

  • @ProtagonistNonTheist You're a feeble minded buffoon. Completely incurious and incapable of any thought more abstract than predicting who will win the super bowl. Clueless tumor. :)

  • @Michael326 Thank you Michael for providing the most inaccurate reading of me I have ever seen.

  • @ProtagonistNonTheist I see you're not used to different points of view. Very few points of view are equal. Most people have vastly different levels of experiences when it comes to the tolerance of homosexuals. Also, most people have different levels of intelligence.

In this case, my intelligence is far beyond comprehension for you, and most of the general population.

    Hi unintelligent person. :)

  • @Michael326 Oh, I see, you're one of those people who wander around aimlessly on Youtube blinded by the cloud of their own ego, boasting about your supposed intelligence rather than just showing it and letting it speak for itself...I see this all the time.

You made many judgements, presuppositions and outright misread my initial comment. You know nothing about me. Clueless tumor.

  • @ProtagonistNonTheist

Bigotry at its finest. You're only mad because I was correct in my sayings, and forced you to face yourself. Sorry I had to do that.

The magnitude of how much I've owned you is demonstrated by how much you reply when this is over. Hint: this argument was over a looong time ago.

You're like an old man whom, hours after losing an argument, barks "and another thing!"

    Pathetic. Expected. Futile.

    :)

  • @Michael326 I happen to be gay, and pointing out my suspicion about this girl being a young lesbian in the making wasn't a judgmental comment, but rather, promoted the idea that such traits are innate in a person even from a young age and can sometimes be spotted if you have a keen eye. Being the arrogant and self serving moron you are, in a bout of self-righteousness, attempted to "own" what you perceived to be bigotry on my end. Between the two of us, you are the one who is futile.

  • @ProtagonistNonTheist Keep going. :)

  • @Michael326 Unnecessary. I have already thoroughly used you to wipe my ass.

  • @ProtagonistNonTheist Looks like you're illogical too. I accept your resignation on that front. :)

    Keep going. :)

  • I LOVE HER.. and how awesome that she gets it. I hated the pink shit. and played with the awesome toys my brothers had.

Maybe there is hope for the next generation.. Go Riley. YOU are a treasure.

  • I'm in love with her!!!

  • Funny!!! Its so tru tho!!!!

  • Her parents put her up to this....But to be fair, my daughter wore blue when she was little, I hate pink...

  • Gee ....Think she might have been coached just a little!

  • @264moxie Well if she wasn't coached, it says great things about her as a young, independent thinker. If she was coached, it says good things about her parents and their desire not to reinforce outdated, socially-constructed gender stereotypes.

  • Way to go, Super Riley!!!

  • She's my little heroine, can't they for once actually NOT make a doll, without it even being pink?

  • Love her!!

  • she's on news 12 ! (Optimum)

  • you go girl ! :)

  • Maybe she'll grow up to do something about it. Her enthusiasm is adorable.

  • 4th

  • Get real...life isn't pink...no more pink stuff!!we love you little sweet heroine...!

  • She is saying the same things I've thought for years. I waited and waited for secret agent barbie, or vampire barbie, warrior princess barbie, ninja assassin barbie but, NO! Kindergarten teacher barbie. Why not university professor barbie? Comes with masters degree and tenure. Hollywood starlet barbie. Why not human rights activist barbie? Comes with an important message and a sense of global responsibility. Pink stuff... BLAH!

  • @mooniekate Apparently you haven't seen my Star Trek and Lord of the Rings Barbie dolls...

However, I do think that she's 157% right. The industry needs to wake up and realize that these black and white, pink and blue, princess and superhero stereotypes don't really exist.

  • @thatsmahlon except that they do. they wouldn't make any money if they didn't.

  • @mooniekate because the "human rights activist" barbie doesn't sell. that's why, moron. There's a lot greater responsibility to being a mother than to being an street irritant with a sign. get a life. and there are plenty of waif-fu dolls. The problem is that it's a joke, in reality.

  • @Sage80 Hey, douchebag. Oh wait, it's Steve. I thought we were just tossing insults around. Did I say protester barbie? No I did not. You don't have to hold a sign to be an activist. If they made activist barbie I would buy it. These stereotypes are perpetuated because people like you think that they are a realistic representation of how boys and girls should behave. Boys aren't born blue with capes on. Last time I checked, we all come out covered in crap. You're a joke in reality.

  • @mooniekate Why not a university professor Ken? Or a human rights activist Ken?

  • @LatitudeN67 That would be great! Why not have a G.I. Jane doll to go with G.I.Joe. Frankly, if given a choice as a child I would have gone with the G.I.Jane doll. Then I wouldn't have had to make my own accessories for my dolls. I would have given my right breast for an Archaeologist Barbie doll, but alas no, they came out with dog-groomer barbie. Not a bad job, mind you, but not what I was into. I guess that's why I make action figures today.

  • @LatitudeN67 Because Ken is a man. And society is more likely to accept a man in those roles than a women. Having Barbie in those roles would show young girls that they are just as capable.

  • Good for her! Let your voice be heard lol
