Isn't Murkowski making a faulty assumption about those write-ins being for her? I had read about a concerted voter effort to place multiple write-in other than Murkowski.
There was an attempt to add other names to the official list of registered write-in candidates that would be provided with every ballot so that someone who wanted to vote for Murkowski had to go through extra effort to search through the names and find hers when they were making sure to spell correctly on the write-in line.
However, there is no reason to think that many of the write-ins were for these other people who didn't run any sort of campaign. They could be, but not likely.
No problem. I'm not sure how interesting it will be; I actually hope that it isn't all that interesting, because when "interesting" things happen during a vote count, it usually suggests that some sort of dishonesty or fraud may be afoot, and democracy doesn't do well when that becomes the norm.
If however the counting of write-in votes, which I think will begin next week, goes off without issue but the lawyers on both sides want to make fools of themselves, then that's okay.

No problem. I'm not sure how interesting it will be; I actually hope that it isn't all that interesting, because when "interesting" things happen during a vote count, it usually suggests that some sort of dishonesty or fraud may be afoot, and democracy doesn't do well when that becomes the norm.
If however the counting of write-in votes, which I think will begin next week, goes off without issue but the lawyers on both sides want to make fools of themselves, then that's okay.

This ad is just factually inaccurate in many points.
-Murkowski did earn the seat in the next election when the people voted for her.
-She has no control over influencing absentee votes after they are submitted.
-She never approached the libertarian party about running with them.
Disregarding the fact that the whole tone of the ad is annoying and condescending, and the graphics and animation are downright laughable, the tea party shouldn't be proud to propagate blatant lies about a person.
