guys, stop going on about stone pressure plates and stuff... it's called detector rales, mixing minecarts and pressure plates is soooo 3 updates ago...
Its simple really. Its called a RS-NOR latch. With two pressure plates as opposite inputs (can now be done with detector rails) and one of the outputs going to the track that changes direction. I guess it would be good for long rides in SMP to not crash with others... Or not, really :/
One time, I made a house made out of obsidian and it had a steel door and I made a six lock combination to keap people out and so I was being chased by creepers and I naturaly run to my house and I always shut the door and mix up the lock, so when I got to my house I went "Ok, lock combination is Up, Up, Down, Up,Down, Down," *click click click click click* "DAMNIT WRONG COMBINATION" * Ssssssss...BOOM!!!
The other day i was working on a system where before i go down i can flip a few switches in my base to change track directions as well as sort carts for unloading on their way up.
then the other day it hit me ... im using karnaugh maps to solve problems in a video game >_> ...
its run with a simple rsnor. but pretty retarded. just power it with a frickin stone plate and no wood plates to divide empty and full carts. What the RS NOR does is, it doesnt allow a different output until it has received a different input. so no matter how many times you jump on the same plate it wont switch the track, the rs nor is the 2 blocks with torches and redstone in a 3x3 square (the blocks are in the corners) Just search for RS NOR and you will understand it. its nothing special.
yes what you would do is use a stone pressure switch to divert the cart to where you wanted to go. Then if you are not in the cart it will not divert and you could make a booster on the main line to return it to the station.
Get minecart mania or some other plugin that allows for bouncers, then you can just but a woold with a stone plate infront off it. then the carts that are empty will bounce and full ones (with ppl in etc) will go straight over it. OR doing it without minecart mania, you add another track that turns, removes the last track piece and places a block 1 away from where the track ends, get a moinecart stuck there so any other carts will bounce on it, and just make a track switcher
it shouldnt be that hard to figure it out. you just need a 45deg drop off for 10-15 blocks (yes you still need it because powered minecarts cannot move over trackless spaces. then you build a simple inverter to control button presses. )
just pause in the first 2 seconds of the film to see the redstuff layout.
I made it. There is no tutorial. If you look closely at the circuit you should be able to duplicate it. This was created before powered mine carts so I am not sure how it will work with powered ones. if you want to divert when you have a passenger you will need to increase the delay in the circuit so there is time for the power cart to pass. If you need help ask over in the redstone circuit thread at the minecraft fourms.
@TheTrueThps3m8 simple, watch almtybob's videos, he uses on to make a minecart system, every time a mine cart goes onto the plate it sends a booster to boost you down the track, and if you arent in it it sends the cart on a loop back to the holding area
i smell a roller coaster

oh come on, just build a detector rail with an RS-flip flop! i built this too, without seeing this video, just by my idea. its really not that hard!

It's just an R-S-flip-flip...but nice to see it in Minecraft

@Speedygrw You can make a rollercoaster wich goes on the same rail twice

everything ever made with redstone looks way too complicated.

ijust look it this way, the left plate is the Reset, the right plate is the Set.
the output of this is connected with the changing track.

woldnt it be cool if you accidentally let your minecart go then it would come back and if you were on it it would go on, is that possible?
kristjan117 1 year ago
@kristjan117 If you used a stone pressure pad to enablew going straight, it would only go if the pressure pad is activated with someone in the cart.

All I'm hoping is that Minecraft continues to be developed to the point where all this wicked ingenuity pays off in spades :D

how do you make that? or did somebody else make a tutorial for this?
Frieslandboy288 1 year ago 14
@Frieslandboy288
you "simply"
make a track
make the track turn in two directions
replace one track piece with a preassure plate on each track
connect them to a rs-nor latch
make a wire from one of the outputs and connect it to the track
RobloxmannenTV 1 year ago
hi, im a bit of a noob with redstone and i need to know, once you have laid 15 redstone wires how do you get the power to carry on?

How about using a toggling latch and only one button placed before the turn? I need to go play Minecraft now.

Stone pressure plates work fine but only if you are in the cart.

Ah!! using WOODEN pressure plates. I thought I couldn't make an input for minecarts, cause the STONE pressure plates didn't work -_-.
Thanks !
