Personally, I think I'm no where near the level I want to be in. Still learning a lot from listening to music (in general) in a more progressive way.

The only advise I could give you, is to get involved with music as much as you can, and really listen to songs you like. Practically study the structure/dynamic/elements in songs.

Also, work hard. I know I tend to get lazy, and everything just turns out sloppy and unprofessional.

Hint: Start using ProTools!

the only thing i could say is wrong with this is that you spent all that money on plugins but ur still using FL keys,... With a 100 dollar piano synth this would be 100% pro quality...either way good job

I screenrecorded FL Studio playing back the track. Then afterwards synchronized .wav version of the track in a video-editing software.

Two reasons why.

1. No crackling sound while playing it live (with the screenrecorder on at the same time).

2. The sound-quality usually comes out a lot better.

Every mix has it's own sound, so it's hard to say 'what you need' to make it sound more realistic/better sounding. What you need to do is to really get to know all of the plug-ins(effects), and you'll eventually know what you need to make your instruments/mix sound alot better.

Also when working in FL Studio,with this type of genre, you need to 'humanize' your instruments and make them sound more like they're being played (you can achieve this by changing the velocity levels in the pianoroll).

I used "FL Keys". The standard 'Fruity Loops Piano' plug-in. I tweaked it to sound more realistic -and for it to fit better in the mix. I've currently moved on from FL Keys to another piano plug-in called "Akoustik Piano" by Native Instruments (NI). I recommend it, it's worth every cent.

Thats because I added the audiotrack to the video afterwards. So it might be a little out of sync. The reason for doing that is simple. The audio quality comes out much better, than what it would of if I recorded it live in FL. I had alot of instruments at the same time loaded and they eat alot of CPU and RAM memory, the song basically lagged everytime I played it live. And even more when I had the screenrecorder on. So thats pretty much why.
