Actually Yamaha update the hull in 08 it carves great and turns on a dime, but for freestyle get a superjet a lot lighter and arm ripping bottom end, as for racing the sxr will run courses stock and great.

depends on what you want:

superjet is for freestlye (lighter, quick maneuver, better jumps, can store more fuel, not very stable on the course more available spare parts etc)

800 sxr is for racing on the course (faster, more stable on course, stronger by 100cc, heavier)

Sorry man, don't think your going to be backflipping an SXR because its impossible. SXR is a racing ski, notice how wide your ski is...EME, Superjets, FX1, Rickter, and a few others can flip, but any ski with a Kawasaki motor in it cannot backflip on flat water. If can backflip your 800, you will get huge recognition from the community.

naw I'm not doing it on flat water...I use the wake of a few cabin cruisers that throw a massive wake. Do you think I would have better luck with an

FX1? 'cause I can get my kawasaki about half to three-fourths of the way, but end up nose diving. I just think i need to pull harder and lean back more and I'll have it. I landed it once after i nosedived in I pulled up really hard and surfaced but since I didn't land flat I don't think that counts. lol I usually just fall off though.

If you nose it in, you landed it. Flat landing is crashing. You can either land nose in, or rear end first. If you flat land, the engine is going to smacked down against your hull. For you, since your a flat water guy, I would use trim. I am a freerider and ride the surf so I have fresh 5 foot wakes every 13 sec. The cheapest backflip boat you can get is a superjet.

WOO HOO!!! so that means it did count!! But man I wish I lived near the ocean so I could ride the surf...Always wanted to do that. But Lake Austin and Travis are also fun to ride when there's some good wakes around. What beach do you ride at usually?

Yup...those kawasaki stand ups are built for tricks, so they have to be light. I've got an '04 800 SX-R that I'm trying to learn to backflip with also. lol haven't hat much luck because I just started trying, but I'm hoping to get it down soon.
