    This truck has a Merchant built trans now. The stocker lasted until about 42000 miles. The c3 pack was blue and purple. LOL!

  • this guy is an idiot. 500wrhp can be had on a dmax with trans, tune and lift pump. that will be good for a 12 second pass with a good driver and a 4wd boosted launch.

  • @Desimes4 why do yo think they took them out of tanks? Because the couldn't handle the stress, the only time an Allison is a good tranny is if it has been built up out the ass.

  • acctually the Goverment uses Navistar.. which is what Powerstroke uses.. and the Allsions are "bulletproof" up to 150 more Hp then stock motor... and Duramax is foriegn trash...

    sorry bud but duramax has never had tranny problems. powerstrokes have had a lot in fact. and just keep in mind that chevy didn't build that piece of shit you guys call a 6.0 powerstroke.

    Acctually Ford has never had tranny problems in there HD line trucks... learn some facts. The E4OD in the older Powerstrokes were better then the Allison or just about equal. and keep in mind i never said Chevy didnt build the 6.0 PSD. And keep in mind the 6.0 was not as bad as people say it was... The EGR has some clogging problems. and maybe a couple people had problems with the head gaskets, thats only on certain ones... im just saying building up an engine on a stock tranny is bad

    agreed. building on a stock tranny is bad but the 6.0 was an absolute piece of shit that cost ford hundreds of millions. it was just an absolute stupid design.. i mean four head bolts around every cylinder?! come on... that's horribly built my friend

  • yes. i agree they did have problems. it costed Ford millions of dollars becuase Navistar didnt hold up there end of the warrenty's.. thats why Ford is stopping with Navistar in 2011. but some of the 6.0's were good. some just sucked. there were some that went for hundrads of thousands of miles. there were some that went bad after 20,000..

  • true. i met a guy who's was at like 270k and he said it loved to blow injectors out. but yeah you can build a 6.0 strong with head studs, fuel system etc. but i'd rather have a chevy.. just my opinion, i mean we can't all like the same thing right? i've just heard way too many horror stories about the 6.0's

  • my friends dad has an '07 LBZ duramax crew cab 2wd 6spd and he told me on the dyno it made 652rwhp and 1200rwtq and he has 3 mods the new '09 superchips tune, magnaflow 4.5" exhaust and a green air intake. i have seen it walk a vette at the track and so far his best pass was a 13.01 @ 106mph and it was spinning off the line like crazy, is he lying about the hp though?

  • the performance tune on the superchips is 77HP and 117 TQ.

    now: 365 HP stock + 77 HP = 442HP

    no where close to 652 HP. so the intake and exhaust would have to add an additional 220 HP, and thats flywheel ratings! not the rear wheel that you claimed.

    SC: 77 HP

    PPE: 425 HP

    with a bad launch, a 13.01 is possible with 652 HP. but nobody would be making that kind of power with a SC. its possible with extra mods, but they would have already switched over to PPE or EFI Live

  • all i know is that the truck is a 2wd crewcab lbz dmax with a green cold air intake, full 4.5 inch turbo back and a superchip. i have a bolt on mustang gt and from a 45 roll it walks me, it beats every street car at the track on friday night street drags and it can smoke the tires in 5th gear

  • well the only thing i can think of is that he isnt telling you everything he has in it. i have a couple of friends that did it. NO ONE except them knew what they had in their engines. all im saying is the mods + the performance dont add up.

    i believe u that it does those things but its just not possible to make that power with what mods you have listed

  • It's the engine code. LBZ's were the Duramax motors from '06- early '07.

  • yeah on Duramax's the air filter is right behind the right headlight. i have a scoop on mine now so i don't always have to remove my headlight.
