Well let me just clear one thing up for you. There is no way that anybody watching your videos clicking an AdSense link would cause "illegitimate clicks." Even if everyone spammed clicked that link 1000s of times, it would not cause YouTube to cancel your AdSense,at least immediately. This probably happened over a larger period of time and you were not aware of it. Google should have emailed you I would imagine about this. I hope you get your account back, and be sure and monitor your AdSense!

Ok, this is me coming from a business perspective. Don't rely on Adsense for revenue. Sell something of your own. The musicians of DFTBA records sell their music. I bet any Adsense revenue from YouTube is nice, but not necessary. The fact that it took about 4 months for *you* to receive a cheque says something about the amount of clicks needed.

For example, package your NaNoWriMo book as an ebook. Sell it through Amazon at $0.99 or something. Encourage your viewers to support that way.

And clicks are NOT the only way you get paid on Adsense. If you have ads up, you get paid for views.

And it's definitely too late for me to sell my #NaNoWriMo as it's already been read by more than 30 people...

Put a nice cover on the front. Involve your viewers to design the cover. Maybe offer to include their YouTube channel link in the credits (careful with this one).

I'm just saying, doing this is much better than the King of the Web thing.
