It looks great, but I think maybe you should consider re ordering some of it. Some of your best is towards the end of the reel, and really that should be the first thing you want anyone to see.
But of course, it is your show reel and you might have a specific reason for doing it in the order you have here :)
Well, i thought to start with some Unicorn's Fortune stuff, then some crappy stuff, then end on some better stuff just like how Comiskey ordered our final films during Harbour Lights =p
Well, it is a compilation of some of my best stuff since i started uni about 4 years ago, including the pencil tests i did on the course itself (Which havent aged well =(). Some things need an update too, like my Dragon, Griffin, Chimera stuff.
You're animations are so smooth and so well drawn~ Rotations look near perfect, since nothing seems to look like it's warping... The running and flying bits look believable, as do most of the other actions. :D You musta done your homework. XD
dude, i love your animations. whether on paper or digital their very just very amazing. i love how the movements are so fluent and smooth. i love that i can tell you spent a great amount of time and patience working on everything. its just...... so amazing. im surprised you dont get more subscribers or video views!!
Wow all these animations are awsome! o.o this school of yours muste have been good, to teach people to animate so well^^ i whis i could go to a school like that^^
Beautiful, simply maginificent! Everything is so smooth, you really bring out the soul of the characters. They aren't just picures with you, they're living, breathing beings. Well done, I wish you the best for the future! :D
Stuff like this is why I subscribed. Did you do all the animation by yourself? You didn't use any like camera software? Because your camera work is amazing!
All the animation in this video is my own, the only thing is Gingaparachi coloured one of the shorts.
No special camera software is used, just animation software. The pencil tests are done by mounting the camera on a stand capturing each frame individually.
@DarkmaneTheWerewolf I'm trying to figure out what it is I'd like to do, and I've considered perhaps trying to develop drawing skill enough to do this sort of thing. (Generally, I think in moving pictures, so this sort of fits - although it's a lot of drawing single images. So maybe it's not for me.) Do you feel like there's a lot of passion to the people who work in this area? Enough energy in each drawing to make it not feel stagnant?
This sort of thing takes a lot of time and work, much more than you would think and its very easy to lose interest in a project very quickly. If you want to persue this as a career choice, you'll have to live and breath animation because one slip up, a lazy moment or even just a single frame, can mess up the entire animation.
Its not too dificult once you get into it, as long as you have a good understanding of physics and anatomy as well as a keen eye for detail, you'll be ok
I dont know! =( In truth, when i started at University, i was on the Video games design course and intended to go into the Video games Industry as an animator... I suppose i still could since learnt 3D animation before i switched to 2D. I'll see what happens eh, I'm using this to apply to as many places as possible at the moment.
This is amazing, I must say. Everything is so fluid--I'm so glad I'm subscribed and can see your work! From the description--'3rd year final project' and such, you must be a student. Where, may I ask, do you go to school?
This is what I'm interested in going to college for, so I'm just trying to do a little research--and I really admire your work, so I thought--why not ask? ^ ^
I'm not a student anymore, i'm officially a bum, I mean Graduate =p.
I studied at Southampton Solent university, i'm always happy to give people pointers based on my personal experiences on how to get into the industry and what its like. =) Youtube comments are too small though, so i'll PM.
Dislike? *gets on shot gun and puts on sunglasses*lets roll...

American McGee's Alice soundtrack! Nice choice! :)
I really like the whole reel, I think it works as it is. My favourite story though is definitely 'Unicorn's Fortune' by far. Had me in tears!
