Actually, this was seen immediately AFTER the special that pre-empted the show that week. The beginning was always a network "telop slide", with one of their staff announcers advising, "Because of the following special program, 'LOST IN SPACE' will not be presented this evening" (cue "CBS presents this program in color!" bumper).

I guess I must have seen this when it originally aired sometime between 1965 and 1968 because my family religiously watched CBS television shows throughout the 60s when I was growing up. I distinctly and vividly remember watching "Lost in Space" and it's a lot of fun seeing clipe, commercials and bumpers related to this show. Can't get enough of it! Thanks for the memories!

Well as someone who was watching in the 60s- I don't recall them doing that usually when specials were run. They'd just go ahead and run the special.

I also am not sure that this was a 1st season blurb as you claim. Because the title graphics look more like the lettering from the 2nd and 3rd seasons. The 'O' in Lost in the 1st season was more sharply edged.

@MrPeterbs Well, I'm just guessing, I was born in 67, so I missed a lot of this. The graphics are from the third season, I didn't have the first season title card in good shape, so I de-colorized this one. Remember, I'm just making a guessed-at recreation. I'd be more than thrilled if someone found the actual bit and uploaded it. This was just some fun.

why take the Colour out of it ? do you plan to do a Colour version Bud ? any idea why it wasnt put on with the other third season bumpers as extras on the third season dvd box set ? be nice of course if they put the first and second season bumpers also on the first and second season dvds as ex tras or all 3 season bumpers all together on the third season boxset , i guess there were ones they didnt find or knew or forgot about but better having some 3rd season ones than none at all : )

@garymacrae147 I made this b&w because this was a first season blurb. I was just striving for accuracy. I don't know if I'm going to do a color one. I'm not sure if they used this in later seasons, actually.

@garymacrae147 Thanks for nice comments. Sure, favorite it up, I'm happy you like it. I assembled this out of various bits because I have never been able to find the original. I think this is fairly accurate, though.
