good ideas but you need to work on core withhim. his arms are all over the place fighting his balance and cordination issues. This is evident if you know what to look for. doing the drills the with bad form is not making him better but reinforcing bad habits in form. The key to athletic development is proper form and technique. great idea and set up... just have to incorporate the proper form and technique and you will be on the right path.
You are absolutely correct. Form is something we are constantly working to improve. This video was made 2 years ago. His form is much more mature now than it was then. Two years from now, I expect his form to look much cleaner than it does now.
Getting young athletes to use to proper upper body mechanics is a constant battle.
god if these keeps this up and grows and gets much more muscle say in highschool...he'll be the best running back or fullback in his county or even state...KEEP IT UP KID!!!!
Love the video! Make sure to get those arms moving too. Looks good though! Keep up the good work it will pay off big time during the season!

Where did you get your speed sled? Did you make it?
DanvilleYouthFB 1 year ago
The sled was made locally - by a friend. It cost roughly $20 to build.
Prices online have come down quite a bit in the past couple of years. Even so, a sled that can be pushed and pulled will generally run about $150.

aggressivesskater 2 years ago
Yes, these drills are designed to increase acceleration, agility, core control, and thereby overall speed.

be sure to pump your arms well, and work on running form. 50% of running is form. I made huge improvements just by doing this.
