  • I came back to your channel again to say you are absolutely talented, love your voice. I hope to hear more from you. Best to you...

  • Pardon my ignorance, but is she Europian? Whats her name? She pulls it off pretty well...

  • cool

  • Very beautiful!

  • raag hameer

  • Correct !

  • beautiful raga wonderful

  • Daaroon.

  • its a great song no doubt and for the singer i have nothing to say cause my other friends already said enough.i,m afraid that if i say anything it could insult her.

  • She did an excellent performance ....no doubt that ......but if she perform this song with a bit slow rhythm ( aro dhora dhora.....aro bistar kora or aoor jiada parka ) it could more better . What ever it is ......to touch this level of performance ( what she did) its required good practice and knowledge of music.......................which is strongly belonging with Dr. Debipriya Das. I hope she will do better in future.

  • The song has been attempted the way Pandit Ajoy Chakrabarty has recorded it. All the harkats, bistars, tans have been imitated. But one has to remember not all are Pandit Ajoy Chakrabarty. It is better to be original than to try to blindly imitate a legend.

  • hi Supriyo,

you've made a good point, but there's no harm in attempting to sing in the style of ones Guru, particularly if he is Pandit Ajoy Chakrabarty. As a student grows and matures, their own style develops naturally, with time & experience. Attempting to pick up songs like this is a positive thing and to be encouraged, but of course all credit should go to the original singer. Besides, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, as they say! :o)

  • Firinghi07, point conceded.

  • I dont see anything wrong with imitating Pandit jee. And surely she did a wonderful job. One of the best I have heard indeed. Thumbsss up to her !!!

  • Rajeeb, I have already commented on that in reply to Firinghi. However, I still maintain that there must be some originality in one's rendition. If you hear Pandit Ajoy Chakraborty's Nazrulgeetis, the first thing which will strike is completely new treatment of the songs heard by all of us many times performed by other artistes. That remains etched in one's memory. Panditji's taiyari, his tonal quality et al come later. However as Firinghi said and I agreed, own style will come with experience.

  • Supriyobasu's point is perfectly valid

  • There's nothing wrong with it, only if you can pull it off!

unless you undergo extensive riyaaz (practice) - you can reach pandit ji's level

  • Aupurbo! Splendid!

  • Really u did excellent treat with this song's tune. As well as ur improvisation in raga introduction way of this song was elegant. Hence I will say .......I did well. Hope u will do better in future as well.
