To everyone looking for where to get this specific recording, I found it on Amazon. Search for "C. P. E. Bach: Symphonies & concerto pour violoncelle". It's track #9 on the first album that comes up (at least today). The track's title is "Concerto pour violoncelle, avec deux violons, alto et basse en La Majeur, Wq 172: III. Allegro Assai."
Amazing performance!! I have to know who these musicians are. Please email me at: vlcfred@aol.com I would love to know who did this recording. Thank you!! Alfred Gratta
I suggest everybody should begin their morning with this piece of music. It's just plain adrenaline injected straight into your heart and makes you happier...
This music is captivating. I listened to it first time a few minutes ago, There is more talent to Carl that one expected.
It has such poise and fascination of a fantasy world, something like voyaging into a new world with great spirits and hopes. A really hopeful song in short. Such zest, there is a lot of character to this piece.
Wonderful. The last 4:57 and the final 5:17 are incredible conclusions.
To expand upon HARMONICO101's thoughts, standard tuning by today's standards is A = 440 Hz, which is not exactly a half-step down (in comparison to baroque tuning). Half-step down by today's standards is Ab = 415.30
Baroque tuning as HARMONICO101 already stated, is A = 430 Hz. That is just how they tuned their instruments back then. I am unsure of the exact reason why. I will have to ask my teacher about it.
Ah, this is so familiar yet till this moment I never identified it with C.P.E. Bach... I think I'm in love...

My first exposure to CPE. I'm very impressed. Great piece of music. It's a little Mozart-ian. Yes, I know he came before Mozart. Thanks for sharing!

@sosome57 Mozart said of CPE Bach: "He is the father, we are the children". So the similarity isn't baseless.

@MRawn I believe in Bach (the father), Beethoven (the Son) and in the Holy Ghost (Brahms) of music :P

@lumeemi2001
It should have been "Brahms (Holy Ghost)". You sir are inconsistent.

The same music exists in a version for keyboard and orchestra. I think is CPE Bach Wq23

It's used as the theme music for the TV program "Groot Dictee der Nederlandse Taal" in the Netherlands, a high-profile national spelling contest.

The song to which I listened last was Shine on You Crazy Diamond by Pink Floyd. CPE and Floyd are like sex for the ears. Jeeze this is good.
