Of course this is a PC, stop commenting on it! Apple is a bunch of money hungry assholes who mindless sheep follow because it is HOT. If Apple really cared they would have just put MAC OS X on the iPad (and maybe made a version with a keyboard). Better yet integrated the first party software on MAC OSX into touch friendly programs and integrated the app structure of iPhone into MAC OSX (yet again why I say they don't care). Why you would waste your time with Apple is beyond me

I think this is a tablet PC that had the Mac processor installed in it. I have a tablet PC and a Mac. I have yet to see a Mac that has a screen that rotates.

it is possible to install osx onto a pc like he is doing but it only works with some motherboards apparently not sure which ones. and it just so happens that he was able to do it on his touchscreen laptop which is normally windows running. u shud try "pspiso. com" for stuff like this they have loads of threads about this and u can download loads o games movies and operating systems and its free to signup (im not advertising for them im just letting you know)

i was going to tell you how, but it won't work because you need to reformat the hard drive to mac if you wanted only mac on it and windows cant reformat to mac, or you can get a pre-formated hard drive or ask a friend.

well after that, you would get a adapter to connect the hard drive to usb to a mac then download the os from a site called ex ua and then put it on the hard drive and it will boot up that once you put it back into the computer.

sorry, i hate to break it to you but your friends will be the ones laughing when they see the resolution of your tablet. you wont be able to fit even the on-screen keyboard probably.

the m912x featured here has a somewhat better resolution than your tablet, and even it seems insufficient for me. especially if os x supports switching to portrait mode.

Seems like it runs OSX even better than the MSI wind, eee pc or inspiron mini! A few qns tho:

1. When you close the lid, does OSX go to sleep? Does it throw a fit if you wake it up? This was a persistent problem in Inspiron mini and eee pc i believe.

2. Does VGA out work? Is it only to external display or does mirror mode work as well?

3. While OSX on an 8.9" screen is a match made in heaven, do you find the resolution too large for the small screen?

yes QE is supported. spaces and dashboard work fine.

Only thing to know before trying it yourself is that the touchscreen will not work natively. It needs the driver compiled for Mac.

LOL!! Yeah pull up a touch screen keyboard as if it is easier than just using the regular keyboard.

of course its easier to use a regular keyboard. But the same as in windows if you are tableting then you are usually only entering web addresses and a few characters, so having the touch keyboard there at the click of a button is actually easier than rotating, typing then re-rotating the screen.

Just required the correct drivers compiled for mac for the touchscreen to work. Real advantage of this touchscreen is that OSX doesn't natively detect it, which on many umpc it does. If the OS detects it then you can't override the driver with other drivers or calibrate it in the right position. So this is the first touch umpc I have managed to correctly calibrate on the mac side.

Have you tried OSX on the HP tx2500z? I'm looking for a new laptop and am going between getting the HP tablet or a macbook, a combination of both would be perfect. Is there any way to know if OSX would autodetect the HP's touchscreen? And if not, how do you compile and install the new drivers for OSX?

the 2500z is to me the perfect tablet, however there are a number of threads on insanelymac about installing OSx. It has some installation difficulties due to its AMD processor, but once over that it seems the particular nvidia graphics is not supported. However the touchscreen should be ok with the pen if the wacom drivers are installed, but the soft (finger) touch screen is autodetected by osx and the calibration is miles off with no way to re-calibrate.
