  • i would love to know what your husband did for your hanging tomatoes. we would like to hang ours, but don't know what to hang them on. i do love your garden space!! it looks so lovely! :)

  • Hey girlfriend, you've been really busy gardening. Everything looks great. I hope you have lots of freezer space. LOL-C

  • How rewarding! Nothing like spending time in the garden. Looks wonderful!

  • Holy smokes your garden is huge and looks great. I just put in my first square foot bed. I've got upside down planters and have a whole series on their progress. Check it out. I wish I had all your space. You upside down tomatoes are really big.

  • Thanks for the comment! This one is from a couple weeks ago. Go and see what the tomatoes looked like on Memorial Day. I am starting to get a tremendous amount of fruit set. I have had no blossom drop and if I had known how great it was growing them in buckets upsidedown, I would have started a long time ago! I did buy some starts and some from seed, but they have only been in the buckets for about a month now. We went ahead and did some cukes too. Three different varieties. Good Luck!

  • Wow you are right, much bigger now! Well good stuff, it is interesting to watch people update their veggies.

  • Happy Mothers Day! more info on the tomato system - did you just cut out holes near the bottoms and plant through them? Looks like youll be busy this summer!

  • Hey, sorry I did not respond more quickly. The bucket has three holes drilled with a hole saw on the side of the bucket and then drainage holes on the bottom. I filled the bottom with soil and then pushed the tomato start in the hole from the outside, very gently. If you pull off some of the bottom leaves and bury the tomato deep so that it develops a good root system. The best fertilizer I can recommend is Superthrive. This stuff works miracles. Look it up, use 1/4 tsp per gallon. Thanks

  • lookin great.

  • This is a great start- do you plan on canning all the tomatoes? What is your bug control plan?

  • Nice start looks like a lot of vegies for the area- i will try your bucket tomatoes great idea!

  • Looks great!
