  • Very helpful, thankfully I didn't mess up any of my flesh tones (I found this video after I started). This was the easiest method I found for painting Infinity the Game figures, tiny, tiny eyes...

  • great pull out technique!

  • Great work. I am going to be doing some mini soon and this will really help Thanks.

  • I've been having so much trouble with eyes. Thank you for doing this vid!

  • thanks to you!

  • This is great, thanks.

  • I tried this. I think I made a little mistake though, as the black outline, thats just a thin line on your models, came out like a thick emo-ish eyeliner on mine. After trying, and retrying I gave up and skipped the first step, and instead I throw a thin wash of black around the eye after I've done the eyeball and all that.

  • Last model example looks like liono from thundercats, lol!

  • Throw some ahbawls on yer figger!

  • those eyes look great! could you do it with a sakura micron pen instead of a brush for the pupil? 8/10 altogether for advice

  • but raccoon eyes works on dark eldar

  • why does it keep skipping!?

  • I like to use pure white on the eyes simply because it suits black templars!

  • lol the part u mentioned using ivory white not the strong white so it doesnt look insane it really cracked me up for some reason and of course awsome tutorial

  • looks great!!

  • all my no helmeted space marines look insane lol

  • Thanks Man! 5/5

  • Those are some very nice eyes actually, great video thanks for sharing

  • Thanks! This most be the most useful tip ever! It really helps when I paint true 25 mm models which have lot smaller eyes then GW models.

  • Thanks again Chris!

  • Really Nice! A very good tip.

  • Really good!

  • cool

  • Nicely done. Thanks for the useful tips.

  • WOW its amesome!!!

  • throwin eyeballs.........bad idea

  • the ivory is nice but i tries white alos and he looked like he was about to go into a fury which looked cool but we all have are opinions

  • used your technique and it is awsome literally it makes the the figure look so much more real and he doesn't look crazy he looks like he's analyzing the battle field awsome eye-dea ha get it lol

  • thanks bro i needed to learn how to do that so the dont look like a bunch of retarded people. Thanks!

  • thanks, i could never get this down and this really helps. im repainting all of my WH40k space marine army and i have alot of units without helmets. right now they are as you would say "passable" but i want them to be as cool as the guys in the codex. again this helps alot. thanks

  • thanks for the tips im a beginner.

  • I just got finished using this technique for the first time on some lord of the rings heroes. They turned out really great. I gave up trying to get an almond shape and just made a horizontal white line and then a vertical black line in the center. I had to use a magnifying glass and a 5/0 brush. It's not as easy as It looks, but the payoff is worth it. I,m sure after doing It a few more times It will get a lot easier. Thanks again.

  • Even for me, its still a bit rough. Many times, I've got to do it 3 or 4 times to get it right.

As an extra tip, try finding some models sculpted by Werner Klocke (reaper's got some, and werner's got an entire line called freebooter miniatures). The eyes on all his figures are very large almond shapes and absolutely wonderful for practicing eye painting.

  • Man, I wish I would have found this before I painted my first model! I was having a hard enough time trying to add a highlight to the area around the eye without messing up the entire face (I figured a faint "glow" from the eyes would be cool) so I all but gave up on it! Well, I'm gonna put eyes on my next one, you'll see! :P

  • hey chris i was wondering why your vids turn black sometimes when you are talking so we cant hear the things u said finished. why does this happen? do you make it so?

  • It's me editing the video. Sometimes I say stuff that I determine later will not help anyone, so I figure it's best to leave it out and stick to the parts of the video that will actually matter and help you guys be better painters.

  • ok was just wondering :D

  • excellent tutorial! painting eyes are my worse nightmare ... I rarely do them, coz I konw im gunna stuff things up and ruin my model - after all, adding the eye details really makes the model pop, I'd hate to stuff things up. I like the idea of painting the eye first, thinking about it a little, it is perfectly logical! Cheers.

  • You know, it took me nearly 3 years to figure that out!

I don't know why all the books try to tell you to do it AFTER you paint all the rest of the face...its just too darn complicated.

  • Painting the eyes first is great advice. I will have to do that now.

  • Hey Chris, You're a natural born teacher. Keep the vids coming. You're always clear and concise with describing what you're doing...Really valuable to anyone trying to learn.. Thanks Jim

  • Appreciate the compliment. Thanks for watching as well.

  • nice vid... but where is that first model from :D? i liked it alot hehe:)

  • The first model is a Reaper mini known as Boris the Black. He's out of print now, but if you contact reaper through their website, you can still purchase him as most of their miniatures, they'll custom cast for people even if they are OOP.

  • nice work mate 10/10

  • thx man thet helpt me alot! :D

  • Woo, finally a tutorial to paint eyes. Thanks for uploading, this video will help me alot!
