But the high notes is clear and strong, amazing that he seemed to do it effortlessly. Shows much about what he lost over the years. But overall the present hyde has a better vocal technique though. I got a big shock when i run through Youtube video's for anything with Hyde in it...and Lo and behold - the rock god sings Careless Whisper! He can choose any song in the world and yet he chooses Careless Whisper by George Michael! Wow! This guy IS 'evergreen' (no pun intended). This is like jaw dropping for me hell his is my no.1 song list for karaoke for crying out loud. Mr.Hyde is such a beautiful conflicting enigma. I love him for it!!! I think hyde's english is much better than most japanese, especially among singers. and this is a 1998 performance, which means laruku has just started becoming one of the top artists/ band at that time, hyde's singing skill has much improved in later years

I'm conflicted. I don't know which version of this song I like better, the original or Hyde's cover. See, I like Hyde's voice better than Georgie's; it has more personality. But you really do need the subtitles when Hyde sings this. George Michael has the advantage of knowing English well AND it's his own song. Plus George has more stage presence when he sings the song.
