One note on the patch, it's thin so it is self-leveling. Do trowel the excess off, but don't go crazy trying for a "smooth" finish initially because the product will level itself out.
The biggest problem is coming up against the cure time of the epoxy. Once hardened, you will not be smoothing it out with anything but a grinder.
Also beware of a slope to the floor. Many floors (especially if they have drains) slope to aid in water removal. The patch will flow toward the low point.
