@MisterLollypop there are almost no solos in black metal, the song structure is more unconventional. no clear verse-chorus (most of the time). there are many more synths and keyboards in melodic black in general as well, especially with shade empire, giving it a techno feel.
@SympathMan yeah, and one more thing i learned from my research. Shade Empire is can also be considered symphonic black metal. you can really hear it at 2:38. really cool stuff.
@lathandien Agreed. The best way, is to listen to Dimmu vs Sirenia.. Both metal but one is melodic and the other is symphonic. Plus the only way to see it is to listen to it.. not lyric wise but instrumental.

The lyrics seem to be about some kind of Orwellian empire.
