@gunguy50 No. 50 miles is an exaggeration based on the theoretical range that many people use. In practice a good 200mW laser will have a range of 5-6 kilometers or more.

The price is not the issue, what you can do with it, is.  All this is-is nothing but a very expensive gadget to do childish things with it. So you can shine a laser 6 kilometers away, So what!!! hypothetical question: if you had a perfectly flat stretch of ground, no rocks or anything to block path of the laser. and you set it up so the beam would be a millimeter over the ground, would it ever hit the ground or would it just continue on for 50 miles. basicly what im asking is: does gravety effect a lasser beam or even light, since a laser is just light?
