  • nintendo made pilotwings RESORT for 3DS. :p

  • i LOVE your voice haha :D

  • yeah that does sound weird revengeguy , wonder what he's wearing right now?

  • 4:05 epic

  • im subsribing because i lmfao when he said "....cream their fockin pants.."

  • @ZachM176 i know rofl !!!!!!!!!

  • amazing graphics :?

  • .....OR you could pay up 800 Wii Points & get it downloaded via Virtual Console on your Wii which would be much easier.

  • bla bla bla bla WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT?! LMAO!

  • "All right, well, here are the passwords if you want to go ahead and skip ahead, play the heli missions or whatever.

Or if you're just an idiot."

  • Good review, but you say that word too f***ing much.

  • Who 'hates' Pilotwings? It's a beloved memory of my childhood lol... I used to have all-nighters playing this and F-Zero, still have both games today.

  • Feckin', friggin' landing!!!

  • Hey man, the hang glider music is awesome! Still, an entertaining review.

  • This made my christmas when it was originally released.

  • The game was released December 1990 just one month after the SNES launch in Japan. Not "2 Years". It was launch title in the U.S.

  • I played this game when I was maybe 5 years old? I couldn't even land the plane! D :

  • this video is too funny

  • Hum, what did I hear ? Watch your language, young man.

    Actually, I'm just kidding, I don't give a fuck.

    Nice video.

  • wat r u talking about the music is one of the greatest parts of the game but good review

  • I loved this game but it really was mainly a tech demo for Mode 7.

  • FUCKIN AMAZING GAME!!!!!!!!

  • Dude I love your style! "If you get a hundred your instructors cream their friggin' pants." I'm still rofling at that one!!! You seriously got yourself a sub from this video alone!

  • I love the bit where he says "the graphics are pretty damn good..." with such confidence :D

  • Always loved Pilotwings myself, but the N64 version. Didn't play it on the SNES.

  • Oh, I played this when I was little! I remember the faces used to freak me out, lol.

  • Love this game. Still have a PAL copy shrink wrapped in perfect condition :)

  • 2:00 that face gave me nightmares when i was a kid D:

  • Regarding those air pillars. They do exist. Not visible but para-gliders use them to gain on height. They spot them by looking at birds. The birds can feel the air currents and thus allso use them to gain on height, so people can simply follow the birds into one of those columns.

  • @2:28 I looked it up. Its actually how they used to sky dive. weird aint it.

  • This game, along with F-Zero, really showed off what the SNES could do with Mode 7. Fun thing to do with the jetpack: You can land on the white spheres, which explode and bounce you back into the air with no penalty.

  • Pilotwings and f-zero were my favorite snes games, I loved them

  • Are you serial? Jesuth Christh

  • I loved Pilot Wings

  • lol @ 3:16

  • i sucked at this game lol

  • 7:44: "Is this what people listen to in Japan?" <-- Ha!!

  • This game rocked!

  • Im gona Ebay the shit out this game:)

  • this may sound weird but your voice is really relaxing and calming lol

  • This dude sounds like Rosie Perez...

  • i loved this game when i was 8 or 9 played it every day with friends <3

  • You can fly a biplane and use a hangglider? Nice son, now get on the roflchopper and save our friends on a fucking no man's land full of fucking SAM's that can blow the shit out of you.

    Makes perfect sense.

  • Yes, the thermals exist in real life and can be pretty powerful. As a glider pilot, I use them to climb the aircraft!! Great review!!

  • one of the best games ever. i agree with u.

  • ahahahaaaaa! GREAT REVIEW!!! Absa F'n lutely was a great game!!

  • doesnt seem like a great game,..u should make a review of pilotwing 64

  • damn, something about those midi's make it more awesome...so nostalgic...

  • I played this game today and got extrmely mad at how hard the helicopter missions are. Also i hat skydiving. But the game is EPIC. 9/10

  • @codfish97

ugh try hand gliding and hitting that target fat al set for you...i used to raeg so hard

  • i first played this game in 2001 and tout this is it,but once seeing your review i must say the graphics looks bareky realistic, and the music and sound effects are good.

you could fly 3dimensional,the only thing i do'nt understand is, why this game requires a dsp chip, cuzz the snes can allready do mode7 without anny chip.

    so what,s the point.

  • A classic, excellent game. It doesn't get enough recognition simply because it's not Mario, or some over-the-top shooter.

It did get decent reviews, and people who actually played it.. found it to be a great experience.

I used to have contests with my friends back in the day. It's such a fun game.

Also, the music suits the atmosphere of the game. Generic rock would have been a nightmare.. No.. the light jazzy tunes really fit the game.

  • this was the shyt i love this game ima get it off ebay

  • dude u rock my world! seriously ur a kickass game reviewer

  • 3:25 "that, is fuckin' hi-larious" LMAO

  • I have a question Deft. Was there a pilotwings 64 cause i remember playing something like this with my brother a long time ago. If you could tell me I would apreciate it

  • Yeah, "Pilotwings 64" is a real game. I've never played it though, so maybe someone else can help?

  • I like the casual swearing.

  • Haha perfect fucking landing

  • Kinda sound like lou ferrigno lol, enjoyed the video tho!

  • i remember this game the last time i played this is when i was 5 and didn't really like it but now it looks like da shit

  • rotfl at your music comments! I completely agree That music is worse than Shanghai 3 soundtrack for the Super Famicom. As for the game itself, I don't really like Pilotwings. Great review.

  • fuck you bastards my pilotwings review is better than this CHECK IT OUT UNLESS YOU ARE A PUSSY

  • check out my pilotwings episode 4

    The Cynical Video Skid

  • It's like Carl's cousin or something i swear to God.. he's so fricken funneh

  • This guys cracks me up. He speaks my language. "if you get a hundred your instructors cream there frickin pants". Hahaha!

    lol

  • Comment removed

  • absolutely great game. played it to death back in the day. hell those helecopter levels used to drive me insane.

gotta say i find your reviewing style very unique. kept me interested.

  • This game brings back happy memories.

    It is incredible

  • Unfortunately I never played the SNES version, but I think that Pilotwing 64 is one of the best gemes ever, awsome soundtrack, great visuals and controls.

Nintendo must do a Wii version for this one. It would be a blast!

  • Not to be mean or anything. But you sound like Mark Whalburg. "Say hi to your mother for me!"

  • dude, this game ruled. one of the coolest "unknown" games ever

  • this game was awsome!!! still is.

  • i love this game

  • This game is legendary, shame they don't make them anymore. Imagine playing it on the wii....but nah...far too many crappy titles to concentrate making I guess.

  • tHiS GAME'S tHE fUCkiNG bUSiNESS tHiS iS HEllA REtR0 GAMiNG

  • you should do a review of killer instinct

  • Awesome review, choice comments

  • Love this game. I love how the four instructors each have a different personality. The first guy is kind of a dick, the girl goes too easy on you, the fat guy is a jackass, and the fourth guy gives you tough love.

I used to love to crash on purpose and try to get a score of zero points just to see them get pissed.

  • the fourth guy (Big Al) is the fat guy, the guy who gives you tough love is Lance, who is really the third guy.

Tony (first guy) seems like the typical pushover.

Shirley (the second level lady) is easy on you

Lance (third guy) is very snide and thinks very lowly of you

Big Al (fourth guy) is a bit wacky; he cries when you do perfectly.

  • Lance seems like the goofy one to me. Al was always the hardass. Tony is a pushover and Shirley is just.. Shirley.

  • perfect fuckin' landing, right down the middle

  • this game was the shit. how could anyone not like it, it's so much fun to try and master. the hang gliding was tough, almost too tough they needed to change the physics on that one. the rest was magic

  • "dis has absoluly nutin to do wif the original gamestory"

    I lol'ed

  • Fuck those people man, this game is THE SHIT!!!

I fuckin love this game, you get to be a enguin and shit too. Fuckin hell yeah, the hand glider was killer too

    GREAT GAME

  • 1:55 rofl

  • This must be the European version because the copyright on the NA version says 1990, 1991 at the bottom.

  • Impressive graphics for SNES. I like Pilotwings 64 for N64, didn't know this existed.

  • love this review

  • wow!!!!!!!! fuck yeah!!!!!!

  • This game is awesome.

  • The bonus level sounds like another nintendo game.

  • Yeah, this guy is fucking hilarious. All of his reviews are insane funny.

  • my first game i got on snes besides the game that came with it (Super Mario World). I had a blast.

  • they have super nintendos in jersey?? lucky lil' guidos!

  • thermal do exist, they are simpy raising hot air, when u see birds circling in the sky without flapping their wings they are soaring on thermals

  • koji kondo (the composer of this game) ftw

  • I seriously love this guys reviews. He's fucking hilarious

  • Aright this dude is in fact fuckin funny

  • the dude giving the review is fucking hilarious, i couldnt stop laughing at the shit he was saying, especially about the music XD lol

  • The music on this is great, I wonder if we will ever get a Wii version (where we can just use a controller and no remote!). I thought the N64 version got really hard!

  • The music makes this game.

  • Best game review ever.

  • I played this game in college. Yes it was that good. I e-mailed Nintendo to request it for Wii download but they just sent me a "thank you for your interest" form letter.

    Bah!

  • funny comments and YES this game sure ruled hardcore

  • As a fellow reviewer, I must say you did a pretty fuckin good job!

  • i used to play this all the time, we would crash into the ground without openeing the chute, lots of fun

  • I were shocked, when you said in the beginning:" This game is one most fuckin... awesome games.."

I think, I will get it, because it has a great grafic!

  • it only has one grafic? lol

  • 2nd favoriate SNES game behind Link to the Past. This game has immense replay value. It will be fun to play forever because the controls are just that good.

  • Dude you're so right this and link to the past bring back great memories!

  • This can be gotten as a ROM of a few sites on the ent and can be emulated using Snes9x

  • awesome review...again! :)

can you still get NESs in some places?

  • sure you can, try ebay or an old videogame stores

  • any names of particular stores? :)

  • i dunno lol.

around here there is a store on 6th street that sells old consoles but around you id have no idea. sorry

  • this was my most hated game i owned

  • I loved this game. AT the time it had groundbreaking graphics. It was just awesome to buzz around in the rocketbelt and watch the graphics rotate and scale.

  • SHIEEEET

  • good review. i think that pilotWings was more of an advertisement/showing off the graphical power of the snes, but in a competent way, like F-Zero but not as good

  • it was so fresh at the time, mode 7 straight from the box, nearly a launch game right? some flaws yeh, but a good game, great gfx at the time, nothing like it. the game wasnt a half assed attempt, they combined state of the art, never done before gfx with gameplay

  • that's a great game

  • This game brings me back I have be hoping they would bring this to the wii. Can you imagine that wii pilotwings that would pretty cool. I'm hoping they would bring to this download center

  • awesome to da max!!

  • I love this fucking game! It's as addictive as crack

  • Preach it brother! Pilotwings was my favorite game of the SNES. I got this game when I got my SNES way back in 1991. Where did you get the emulator by the way? Nintendo still hasn't gotten a clue and put it on the Wii VC yet, so, an emulator is really the only to go for now.

You say that you don't like the music of the game. Who couldn't like the music? Some of the best video game music around.

Both Pilotwings games deserve 10 out of 10 and there should be no argument with that claim.

  • I used to think these graphices were mindblowing lol

  • this game is not bad I loved it when I was a little kid

  • Everyone you know hated Pilotwings? Dude, murder you friends, seriously. I used to play this over and over and over when I was about 12 or so, even though I sucked at it. Pilotwings is awsome!

  • Does anyone use these? I like how you try to sound pro, but you curse and shit. Is this review for toddlers? any way thanks for the laughs.

  • I agree with you completely this one of the best games ever made thanks for the good review

  • What a great review!

  • Classic!

What screen recorder are you using to record the emulator you mentioned?

  • amazing visuals

  • Yes! I just started playing this again on an emulator and found your video from looking for codes. This game was/is so good. Graphics were ridiculous for it's day. Aside from letting the skydiver hit the ground, I would also land on those random circle things with the rocket belt. They break when you hit em. I never disliked the music though. It's from Kōji Kondō. Nintendo music king. He did original Mario and Zelda themes among many others.

  • Where did you find that emulator? Now, I don't know about you, but Pilotwings will always have a special place in my heart. This is truly one game that never gets old no matter how many times you play it.

I wonder if Nintendo will ever add this game, or the whole series to the Wii Virtual Console? I think it would be a good move for them to do so. There is a lot of Pilotwings fans out there. And anyone who would say that this game, or it's 64 bit sequel is crap has alot to learn.

  • btcguy08,

Yeah I love this game and the N64 one still to this day.

There are tons of emulators for SNES (and other systems) on the net for pc and maybe other OS's too. Just google SNES emulators. I use snes9x.

For games just google SNES roms. You can find pilotwings easily and plenty of other game roms too. Start the emulator, open the rom, and play away. You can use your keyboard to play or get a usb controller to have the real feeling of playing the game.

  • why don't you put links in the infobox?

    good review though.

  • I agree this game was awesome. Nice commentary too.

  • I always liked the music in this game. It is one of the best games ever!

  • Thermocurents exist in real life:) Know for a fact:)

  • Wow

This reminds me of when I was trying to get a pilot license on GTA SA

wonder if this game was the "inspiration"

  • nice review, too much F-bombs though

    I love this game

  • nope thats usa version

  • good review

  • I noticed that the instructions display a yellow B button and a red A button. You must have downloaded the European PAL version, no?

  • I managed to get 100% scores constantly, back in the day...

  • What the hell was the -1 for?

I really like this game, I played it often. I've even played it quite recently again. I'm also interested to see if there are differences between the PAL, NTSC-U and NTSC-J versions.

  • Your commentary is blinding mate.

  • brilliant game, great review, cheers

  • I just bought this game today for 5$ and the controls along with the graphics are extremely good. It actually feels like I'm flying a plane or skydiving...

  • Interesting. Not counting Super Mario World (which was packaged with my SNES), Pilotwings and F-Zero were the first two SNES I ever played (got them for my birthday in 1991). Still two of my all-time favorite VGs.

At the time, the graphics in this game were utterly mind-blowing.

  • i didnt know the snes was capable of those graphics!

  • I bought this game today for 1 british pound XD and f-zero for the same price im so frikin overjoyed !!!

  • I used to love Pilotwings too my friend, & most people I knew didn't like it. No taste!

  • if i ever had to go on that ladder... i would be scared to sky-dive. my grip's not great. i would rather go into the plane first, then, when i get to the place of landing, you know what happens. who gives a crap about that?

  • I'M ORDERING THIS GAME ONLINE! along with animaniacs, doom, batman returns, goof troop, star fox, and pac-attack.

  • im playing this on an emulator right now

  • Excellent review, very informative and it gave me a good insight of what to expect. Thanks to you, I actually plucked up the courage to buy the game on ebay! I was a huge fan of the 64 version, and this one looks just as good.

Cheers again, keep up the good work man.

  • this game was fun. ;0)

  • Ya dude. I hanglide and Thermals exist. You cant see them from the ground due to surface pollution but when your a few hundred feet up then you can see rapidly cooling air rise.

  • I have both Chrono Trigger and super mario RPG. POWNED! XD Naw just kiddin man.

  • this is THEE game where i honed my gaming skills as a child. literally hours spent playing this shit. i also thought seeing the parachute guy hitting the ground was fucking hilarious as a kid. awesome review my man. props.

  • You sound like Mark Wahlberg. I bet you're from Boston.

  • he's queens or bronx

  • i remember me and my friend as kids staying up til 3-4am playing this game on friday night sleep overs LOL. ohh how much fun. skydiving all night. this is one of those games that just relaxed and entertained you soooo damn much, i love it.

  • Deft, I paided $40 shipped for a sealed first print copy. :) its was SICK opening it.. had the factory snes smell to it.. ohhh the manual!!!.. ill keep it mint :)

  • awesome man, i wouldnt even have openned it. that history right there. I have an unopened nes and that thing is in another box with styrafoam balls, but its at a relitives house.. =0( ... gotta remember to get it back sometime!

  • yes this game really is the best.. im getting a sealed copy very soon! lol cant wait

  • I found this game for like 3 bucks!

  • yeah it really showed snes's impressive abilities. what a cool game in 16 bits

  • hahahahahahahahahaha

  • Man I played this shit my whole life.

FUCK Lance though what a prick.

  • Nice commenting!

  • Oh, man. I played this game to death when it came out. Didn't like Pilotwings 64 so much.

  • Very good stuff. The game looks good too.

  • Great review as always! 5/5 star
