  • There are a few songs that I absolutely NEED them to play on this tour, and this is one of them!

  • I agree. They need to get rid of a few songs like elevation and put this in

  • A badass song by a badass band. 5 stars!

  • ok it wont let me post it but its on my bad version 2 if anyone wants to look

  • There was one or two songs that I had SO wanted to hear live, in the flesh as it were. And this was one of them, they didn't do it the last 2 times they were out here (87/91) and I was only 10 in 84! I texted a friend immediately after, "I can now happily die and won't regret it at all, I've seen Bad live" :)

  • I totally feel the same way.

  • @TheHedge007

Same here. Deeply disappointed seeing them here in Houston, Texas, and they didn't play Bad. The other song I wanted to hear was New Years Day. Yours, TheHedge?

  • Best Christmas gift my boss could have given me - 2 free tickets to this concert! I'd pay the full price and endure the rain and the queues and everything else to see them live in Auckland again

  • i was there!! awesome, best concert ever. this is one of my favourite u2 songs. this concert was special cos we got bad and one tree hill!! best band in the world!!

  • mullen jr is the greatest rock drummer of all time.

  • Oh my gosh, I love U2 so much! The best band ever. Don't you wish they would stay young forever?

  • Ive been to many concerts and U2 put on a great night of worthy entertainment along side of MJ's concert a few years ago. U2 ROCK ON!

  • Was at the Auckland concert and i just gotta say "ROK ON U2" Awesome frikin night.

  • whats that on 1.55 and 1.56,i never heard it before

  • What do you mean? The drums?

  • i can't really explain the sound, its a high tone that goes down real quick,i just never heard it on other versions.maybe its someone in the audiance, but it goes very well with the rythem.

  • Finally someone who can hear it as well. Thank you :)

  • yeah, i've heard it on other versions, too! sounds a bit like a recorder flute, but i think it's edges guitar. you hear again at the end of the song alot, from 4:00 on, and it clearly goes down the note scales at 4:18 and 4:28. the edge is a soulmiester.

  • @vhuskey Hey. I'll be impressed if you respond to this - 2 years after you made the comment :) The flute sound is part of the backing track - from recent 360 shows I have Bono IEM recordings. Very clear indeed. It's a track sync'd in by the engineers. Would love a copy of that myself as I'm trying to start a U2 tribute :)

  • Its the edge's guitar, i heard it in other versions

  • Can you tell any shows where we can hear that as well? I can't remember that I ever heard it so clearly.

  • You can hear it at 1:50. There was a Zoo TV version, but not washington when there was something similar, I saw it on youtube somewhere....

  • i think i know what u mean and although im by no means the greatest guitarist in the world ill attach my video and you can see if it is it....on the second verse ok guys

  • edge also did the guitar thing at original live aid in 85

  • I'm responding to the Adam Clayton comments and I'll piggyback a bit in this way: I've very recently become a huge Clayton fan. He has some ethereal poise and grace I never noticed before. He's my favorite band member now, and I look at old stuff with new eyes in light of this certain projection I've only recently (ie. vertigo tour) noticed. He adds something very unique and essential to the mix that for some reason I never noticed before.

  • Amazing. U2 is a great band. Bono is a great Christian ledaer. I saw them in atlanta n 2005.

  • i was at this concert and the whole thing was amazing. U2 are one of the best group of musicians and performers in the world.

  • Clayton's just along for the ride?? I think the opposite is true. Do you forget that back during ZooTV he actually missed shows? I think that now he's more mellow and focused. He and Larry mesh so well now...they're like one entity creating the groove of the band. Listen to what he does on songs like Kite and Vertigo or Love and Peace...different in each instance, but brilliant nonetheless.

  • hedaman353 - shut up... It's not a mistake... But I won't gonna argue with you...

  • om my god, edge made a mistake, he played the wrong note, how can the world best guitar player do that, see 17seconds.

  • Hemmm it's not a mistake at all... it's on purpose. Dont you ever heard about improvisation...

  • This was an amazing night...glad i was there

  • Still the best live band after all these years.

  • It was a great night, and a priviledge to be there. Bad is my favourite U2 song.

  • they have such a great sound. i feel that his voice is still very strong. when they make a new song he can hit the notes perfectly. some of their older stuff he is getting scratchy with though.. still brings an amazing performance though

  • U2 rocks. But I wish I heard Bono's voice when he was at his Peak back the the mid 90s. His voice is getting scratchy and stuff now days. Still he rocks. Big fan.

  • Yo man his peak was late 80's, mid 90's was when his voice started going bad. Listen to the difference between his voice during the ZOOTV tour and the PopMart tour. His peak was definately late 80's.

  • Your right dude. Is see that in Zooropa a little bit. I'm upset over the last 3 albums because the bass guitar is lacking. Believe it or not the Bass guitar was like the meat of alot of there hits. It was the backbone of the atmosphere in the songs. I think Adam Clayton's heart isn't into it anymore. He's just along for the ride.

  • Sorry 4u, Good 4us... Adam Clayton is TOTALLY into the creation of doing their very best work now. Read the TIME article re: Atomic Bomb. He & Larry stood up and said the songs were not ready, after a solid year of re-writes. They demanded more of themselves.. 4 us! And man, did they ever deliver!

  • I can't believe they played this. What a great night it was.

  • better in melbourne

  • I agree, because I was there! :D One of the best moments of my life, amazing. This one is good too, but Bono's voice isn't as good as in Melbourne. Nothing beats Bad. (except Where The Streets Have No Name, ISHFWIL, Pride and a couple of others ;)

  • I can see myself and my wife in the crowd, we were right by the fence, in my 42 years i have seen a few concerts, this one rates right up there, absolutely brilliant!!! hey and we got see Bono and Larry mullen at the viaduct the next day too...

  • Wish i was there... Bad is the best live song on par with Where the streets have no name. When they played Bad in montreal i knew it would be the best five minutes of my life...

  • I noticed that every single BAD is diferent from the others!, he varies a little all of them! o_O

  • Boring

  • Obviously a comment from a soul that's dead. A pity.

  • Adorei! BAD é linda! :D

  • i was there and we all sung along to every song (even kanye west) but like 10,000 people camped out for tickets to this one and I guess we had 13 years to practice between shows in AKL!

  • oh fofo amei

  • I was there!!

  • Wow, this was a brilliant show! Everyone in the crowd sung to every single song! U2006, THANKS SO MUCH! (PS you were pretty close last night....A reserve? ;) )

  • Lovely, thanks so much

  • So happy to have been at this show

  • ja tinha saudades da bad...finalmente cantaram...

  • são os maiores .... maravilhoso!

  • Este inicio até levanta os mortos carago!!
