@5RU22 Thanks for the question :) "groß/gross" is pronounced: "gr-ow-s", pretty much like the word "grow" but with an s-sound in the end :) "er ist groß" = "ai-r ist gr-ow-s". Cheers!

Well outside of Berlin, doughnuts without a hole and filled with jam are indeed called "Berliner", but Mister Kennedy surely meant being part of Berlin.

It's like "Frankfurters", that might be sausages in the US but it's a type of person from Frankfurt here ;)

You could go to your headmaster and propose an extracurricular activity. There are many german students in the UK and you can probably find someone to teach you and your friends for free (for a certificate), worth a try! :D

Hey, English and Spanish are both helpful i learning German. Japanese is not, but if you master something tricky as japanese, you certainly have the patience to study grammar, so it will benefit. I say, give it a try!

German and English are both romance languages (meaing they all come from roman latin), so if you speak a roman language already, it is very doable to learn another one of the same family. But I would say German is a little harder, simply, because of the gammar & habits. English lost most of it's separation between formal and informal speech while German still very much bases itself of such. But both languages have a lot in common! And you are doing very well :)

hmm german and english are a bit related. some german words summarizes like in the english there´s sometimes only 1 or 2 (or sometimes a blittle bit more) letters different.

it´s exactly the same in spelling.

for example:

Historic=Historisch

Kindergarten=Kindergarten (actually kindergarten is a german word:)

and many words more
