LOL, they definitely reused some of the code from Fantastic Voyage when they made this (or was it the other way round...?) Similar sounding music and even the main character sprite looks identical. Still a fun game though, if it aint broke, don't fix it! Worked for Dizzy, after all.
Looks like the guy was a one trick pony. He only did the 3 games which used this sprite in all of them. All released in the same year so it's difficult to know which came first. He later went on to become the Oliver twins but Codemasters told him to ditch the sprite from the Dizzy games.

It isn't bad at all. Nice variety of different sea creatures on each level. Those seahorses have got to be the best thing ever.

it's better than that other underwater game with devil in the title. i hope we don't see devils of the deep next.

It does, but you'd have to go all the way to catch them. Devil's of the deep, indeed! Not much chance of that.

Obviously heavily influenced by both games. The main sprite is also in Blood N Guts and Fantastic Voyage.
