i bought me a fender stratecaster copy at the pawnshop but found out that the neck was warped i was wondering that maybe if i soaked it in the bathtub then layed it on the ground and layed cinder block on top it would straighten out
I have a 1982 reissue 57 strat that I just put in the shop to get "EJized". A friend of mine from work got me the schematic for the wiring...Then I went online and bought the pickups. Cost me some money but it'll be worth it when its all said and done.
oh boy,......im buying a new guitar soon, and im probly getting a gibson or a strat, i want both, but ill probly get a les paul; except every time i watch this guy i want to go and get a strat.....
wow, the HSS strat was the exact strat that i was thinking about buying lol, for around 1300 bucks, its really nice. THing is, for the music i play i like humbuckers better, they have a little fatter sound
yeah same, im into lots of styles of music as well, not metal tho lol. I like a lot of clean stuff as well, so i dont really want an ibanez, ive tried them, their tone is too flat and it has no soul if u know what i mean lol. Ibanez guitars have no character. I probly like the same stuff as you, classic rock mainly
yeah, they do have some nice stuff, but i think the floating tremelo system takes a lot of the natural resonance from the wood out of the sound. Still nice stuff, i want an ibanez JEM sometime in the future. Yeah im either getting a strat or a tele, 90% sure of that.
I have both a strat (SSS though) and a les paul, and in my opinion, if you are really looking for a fat sound, get the les paul. you can always model your amp around it to get a thinner and cleaner sound if you want. well, if your amp has very many options you can but its not too hard to do with any amp.
Hey, goatman5, u can find a tab 4 this song at a website called ultimate-guitar. There's only one tab for it, but it's good. I'm learning from it now. Happy playing.
Eric Johnson is a fine guitar player, but his best record by far is Ah Via Musicom. Everything I have heard from him since the early 90s is mediocre songs that don't showcase his talents very well. The Alien Love Child thing he got into sounded awful. By his Austin City Limits DVD and you've got his best covered.
You have to understand and appreciate what Eric has done as a musician. I didn't love his ALC either but I respected his growth and creativity. He's just trying different things and expand himself as a complete musician.
I do appreciate him and feel he's one of the best electric guitarists ever. I respect his choices and wanting to grow as an artist. It hasn't translated into material that allows him to shine, IMO. I will forever look forward to each of his new releases and wish him the best.
Venus Isle was a pretty uneven affair. I have the CD and find maybe 2 or 3 songs happening. Nothing else of his comes close to "Ah Via Musicom" in terms of songs that provide a vehicle to showcase his playing and singing. Tones was the next best record, IMHO.
ALC was a cool new direction for him, but the music that group was making did not appeal to me. I just hope the best for him and look forward to him hooking the right people together to put out a record that showcases him in the best way possible. I like his singing, too.
this is totally subjective. u cannot say "it is the best recording".. For example: I like venus isle the best because of the pure emotion that lies within it, and also because the red thread that runs thru the album, is easy to notice in each song of the album
The tone on these videos is great, but man, his live tone is one of the most amazing things you are likely to hear - I saw him a few years ago at a venue with amazing acoustics, and man, it was about as good as guitar tone gets.
Does anyone else think that EJ has the movie announcer voice?.. In a world where music reigns supreme.. one man.. one guitar. Coming to concert venues this summer.

yeah, well, i'm into all music, mostly clean though, so i got the hss strat because of its versatility, im getting a lp... someday i guess...
you should try ibanez guitars. they are pretty heavy sounding, and very very confortable...

ibanez guitars have no character if you buy their cheap basswood stuff. Have a look at their mahogany or alder guitars, you might find something
anyway, I've always had a similar choice myself, except mine is start or... tele !

yeah but, when somebody says "strat" most people think about fender's brand. fender strats get a heck of alot better tone i think to.
